I LOVE YOU RUSTY!!!!! Big Big Hugz for that post. I have never in my life needed to hear those exact words as bad as I needed to hear them today. Thank you!!!! Words can't express how much that meant to me right now. I think it needs bumped once a week for a reminder to everyone!!! Great words of wisdom!!!!! Re-direct, re-focus. It works great with toddlers too. ;) Keep up the good work Rusty! Thanks Rusty. I may sway to the left and I may sway to the right but I am also surrounded by people that love me and care enough to gently nudge me back into the race when I feel like giving up. Those same people will push me when I need it. I thank you for being one of those people in my life. Great POST! For all you new quitters out there, team up with other quitters and support each other. Be accountable to each other and be there for each other. The support really makes a difference, even if you never meet face to face. I must say that the support group that I have here is what has made this a successful quit. Some of these people would be really disappointed if I gave up and I have no intentions of disappointing them. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 247 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,956 Amount Saved: $864.5 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 20 Mins: 7 Seconds: 59

Great post, Rusty. Whether the force that sidetracks us is external or internal, this is valuable advice. Good advice Rusty, and it can be used in our every day lives as well as quitting smoking. Found this on another site and thought it might be useful to some. Back on track If you have gotten a little bit off track, today is a great day to re-focus yourself. All it takes is a single step to put you back into a positive direction. Sure, you've slipped a little in the past. That's no reason to abandon the effort. Get back on track. Take one step and re-commit yourself to going the distance. The difference between winners and losers is not at the beginning of the race. Everyone is there at the starting line. The winners are the ones who persevere to the end, who see it through, who refuse to give up or give in. Everyone gets sidetracked on occasion. What makes a winner is the ability to quickly get back in the race after each setback. It is never too late to keep on going, so make a commitment to do just that. Get yourself back on track today. You have the time, you have the ability and you have the desire. So do it! Make the most of what you've already done by seeing it through. Stay on course until the job is finished and you'll count yourself among the winners! -- Ralph Marston Rusty :)
