Welcome paper_wings,

I am sorry to read what you have been going through. Feeling helpless is not a good place to be at all. I think it would be important to talk to your family doctor about how you are feelings - your doctor will be able to rule out any possible medical causes for your anxiety and talk to you about options in terms of medication. If your anxiety is impacting your life severely then medication might be what is needed right now. Either way, it would be good for you to know the options available to you to help treat the anxiety

In the mean time continue to work on the program. Also, try to keep a journal of what you are thinking and feeling, that way you may eventually be able to identify thought patterns, behaviours or even foods that could be triggering the panic attacks.

Let us know what you find out. I hope you start to feel better very soon.

Hey all - new to this.

My manager showed me some of the online support stuff for anxiety/depression and I thought I would give it a go.

In the past I have dealt with a panic disorder - which waxes and wanes from time to time.  I will have a few large episodes & then nothing for months - years even.  Lately it seems like every week I work I have at least 1 major panic attack that just puts me on my butt & I either have to have a mini-meltdown to get myself back to work OR I end up going home/calling in sick because I simply cannot work.  It is starting to put a lot of stress on me as I am always on edge thinking about having another panic attack.  I can never figure out what is setting them off, they just seem to pop up suddenly so I don't know how to prevent them.  I try to use my coping methods to bring myself back down - sometimes it works, sometimes not.
One day I had to call in sick because I just cried and cried for hours - feeling helpless.  It is starting to bring on a lot more depression as it is affecting my life severely.

Anyways...
That's my story..
