Hello overtherainbow,

I'm glad you have found us. This program is based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy principles which is one of the best treatments for mood and anxiety disorders. If you do the program and homework you will notice a different after just a few sessions. Take your time with the program and post often in the support group. You are not alone in this, we will help you get to where you want to be.

With depression it can be hard to get motivated and push yourself to get things done - like this program. How are you going to ensure you stay committed to this process?

Hello!

My name is Olivia. I'm a 22 year old college student who has struggled with depression, anxiety and panic attacks since I was about 11 or 12. I feel like at this point depression is so embedded in myself that it's inseparable from my personality, my self-perception, my life.  Depression and mood disorders run in my family. That plus an early divorce and some trauma as an adolescent has created a perfect recipe for someone struggling with mood issues. When the depression is gone the anxiety seems to be even more prevalent. I'm always waiting for the depression to come back and sometimes it feels like all my happy moments are tainted by the knowledge (or paranoia?) that it is temporary and I'll be back to my old sad, self-loathing, anxious, phobic self again.

Anyway, I figured I'd post here to introduce myself. I look forward to being a part of a community of people who have struggle with the same demons. It makes me hopeful to think we are all here together, trying, striving, falling and then getting up. -Olivia
