Hello Howard,

Welcome to the support group and thank you for posting. Good for you for coming here and seeking the help you need. This takes strength and courage! I would recommend working through the sessions of the program available here. I would also suggest checking out our sister site alcoholhelpcenter.net to find out more information on problem drinking.

Looking forward to reading more from you and wishing you all the best.

I'm new to this site and just trying to figure out how all this works.  I've been suffering from depression for many years but also suffer from alcoholism.  I've done all kinds of treatment for both but basically I always end up being depressed and picking up that first drink or picking up that first drink and starting that negative cycle to depression.  I'm really hoping this program can help me.  I've seen all the medical experts and had all the treatments, but usually success is short lived.  I've had close to a year of sobriety a few times but was miserable and depressed.  I would have to say I have general anxiety disorder too from reading the information on this site.

I really hope this program can help me.  I also go to AA and have a therapist but I tend to go in spurts and then stop altogether.  I'm not sure AA is really for me.  I'm pretty much agnostic if not completely athiest.
