Tip of the day

I created my morning routine to combat depression. At least I had something to complement myself for. Only if I feel I have more energy I would add activities...

So I think it largely depends on the function of the routine. If the routine is the day starter, I would not make any changes as it is the thing to get us out of bed, take a shower, eat breakfast and brush our teeth. If the routine is a complete day/week program then certain variations can be an opportunities.

NO! NO! NO! NO!  I won't do it.  I can't do it.  I LOVE my routine and the comfort of its predictability.... !!!

Having said that..... I did just push myself to attend a church service and a survivors' meeting today.  Just leaving my house on a Sunday is a pretty big change.  So, OK maybe it's a good idea. But I don't haveta like it. Do I?

Tip of the day

Change your routine.  You may find the house to be a welcoming environment, or your routine tasks to be comforting and easy. Your comfort zone, however, is also the place where your negative thoughts, fears and anxiety may linger, and you must try to escape it. Rising out of your comfort zone simply means that you should do things that you had never done before, such as engaging in different conversations, physical activities, watching movies alone, or even eating in a restaurant you have never been to.
