~m,
I used to describe myself as crazy and then a new hire at work told me I was quirky. I liked the sound of that. I too am ODD but quirky just sounds more positive!

Thank you, Rowsie. I find it hard to separate my depression from 'me'. The two have been so intertwined for so long.

I've really struggled with this too... not easy to come up with just three words... especially when the first 20 are all negative. DEEP BREATH... regroup... remember to be compassionate...
Finally came up with this:

Curious... as in ODD and inquisitive
Funny...    as in ODD and humorous
Whimsical... as in ODD and creative
and maybe ODD isn't so bad if I think of it as being unique
 ...and that's the truth

Pete,

I thought a long time about how I wanted to describe myself. I thought of a lot of other words, some not all that positive. What I realized though was that most of the negative ones were a result of my depression and not me.

Withdrawn, sad, tired, worrier, misunderstood. All of these are my depression, not me.

I have read your posts and I would describe you as intelligent and creative as well. You are also caring Pete. If you weren't then you wouldn't comment and try to help others on this forum. There you go. You have postive words as well, whether you believe them right now or not.

Hey, Rowsie, I'm glad for you that you see yourself in that way. I wish I could.

I considered describing myself in such a positive manner, but decided to go with what I actually know about myself rather than what I'd like to convince myself to believe.

Members,

If you have only three words to describe yourself what would you choose?
