Hey Grumbles,

I know it can quite hard to stick to the program. This time of the year seems to be a pretty busy one, everyone is getting back into the swing of things after the summer. Once you find a bit of a routine, then start by scheduling yourself to do 10 minutes of work on the program per day. If you are able to do that, then you can try increasing it to 15minutes and so on so forth. This helped me, I also wrote a note in my outlook (e-mail calendar). Otherwise I would forget about it....it's all about the reminders, but very worth it in the end.

Hi Strength and Greg,

I am doing ok.  I haven't been sticking to the program as much as I like... I keep saying I am going to work on it and then I just procrastinate.  How did you guys manage to get it done....I just have no motivation lately.....worse then usual actually.

It's nice to hear the both of you are seeing some positives,  one day I will get there too...just not today

Hi Greg_c,

Thanks for updating me on your progress, I would love to hear from you again.

90% is really great progress indeed, keep working. I am glad you are socializing and getting out more often. I have been doing well myself, interacting more with patients, being present with my family...etc

How is everyone else progressing? Updates anyone?

Hi Strength,

My progress:

I  wrote a while ago about how I couldn’t remember things I felt before being depressed. I still don’t, really, but after several weeks of CBT with a counsellor, I’ve realized I was always a fairly melancholy person, so maybe the is nothing tremendously happy for me to remember. And I think that’s OK. The counselling and medication seem to have been effective. I’m not ‘better’ yet, but I don’t dwell on the bad thoughts like I used to. I’d say 90% of the time I’m back to normal. If I’m alone, and tired, I sometimes get to feeling very negative, but it doesn’t last.

I find I have begun to seek out the company of friends more. I was always somewhat asocial. Not antisocial, but I preferred to be by myself, which can be a problem if you’re prone to depression. So even though I’m alone in my office, I take breaks to visit coworkers, and sometimes take my laptop and work in more public areas. It helps.

My doctor say he expects I’ll be on meds for another six months to a year. I’m feeling pretty optimistic right now that that will be sufficient. I may ask about cutting back the dosage though, as I find myself occasionally a little manic - seeking attention, interrupting people, nothing too bad, just annoying.

So, in general, I’m doing OK.

Hi Strength,

Thank you for updating us on your progress, it is great to hear that you have been experiencing positive progress since joining this site. What sections of the program were most helpful to you? How did the sessions help you? What tips do you have for working through the program?

Continue to strive forward and post often!

Hey everyone,

I am just writing to sort of update everyone on the progress that I have made since joining this site and in return I hope you will all share with me your progress. Since joining this site, I have worked through the majority of the program and also have been seeing a therapist. I since have been more active with my family, spending time with them but also being present in the moment with them. I have been sleeping better and just generally feeling a lot better.. I know that I still have a long way to go...and certain days are a struggle but I feel like I've been able to sort of climb out of a deep hole. I would like to hear how everyone else has been doing, let us know if we can support you in any way, answer questions....anything!
