how to not quit

Hello mmgsc100,

I can see that you have a lot on your plate right now. You should be proud of yourself for not quitting even when you want to, when life gets tough remember that you are a strong individual.

Furgittit shared some great ideas about how to not quit. It takes a lot of determination and motivation to just keep moving forward, but things will get better.

I know you mentioned that you are not happy with your current work situation and that you can't seem to find a job at the moment with the economy. I would suggest to continue keeping an eye out, and apply if something looks like it might suit your needs. It never hurts to try, who knows, maybe an opportunity will come up, and you can switch your work place environment.

You also said how you feel that there is a lack of support overall. Are you feeling this lack of support from family members or from friends? Have you tried explaining to them what you are going through right now? You don't have to share all the details, sometimes if you just mention that you are having a tough time, people will be more supportive if they know that is what you need at this time.

And remember, you can come here and reach out anytime, someone will be here to offer encouragement, advice, or to just listen. Have you had a chance to read some more through the program? If you are feeling unmotivated to do that, we are holding weekly support meetings here for members who want to work through the program together. Feel free to join in anytime!

Let us know how you are doing.

This is a tough question.  I have been there and know exactly what it is like to be bullied by a co-worker (in my case it was my immediate supervisor, who laid blame when it was her mistake).  At that time my hubby was off because it was winter, I had 3 kids to feed, and all of the bills to pay (at least our regular health insurance was covered by the provincial govt.)  I ended up getting sick, relatives died, friends ended up in the hospital, so I was at an all time low, but I kept going, every morning I would get up, puke, get ready, drive to the other end of the City and work my butt off, then I would drive home.  I did this in the winter when I had minimal heat in my van (just enough to keep the windows from frosting up).
Then my father-in-law ended up in the hospital, and I was on my last legs when I was laid off from my job.  He passed away 2 days later.  The decision was taken out of my hands and I actually felt better, for not having to make the decision myself.  I know big cop out.
Now it isn't quite so bad, still there are days when I just don't want to keep going, but again, I have an out-of-work (or part-time work) hubby, and 2 kids at home, so bills and food to pay.  No more sick days, so time off is unpaid.  There is no leave of absence for me, unless I could miraculously get my doctor to waive the $200.00 fee she charges for filling out paper work in order for me to get sick leave insurance from the Federal Govt.
So my suggestion to you would be to keep going, one day at a time push, puke, grunt, scream whatever it takes, you are a strong person as you have come to this sight and have asked for help.  It takes a wuss to ignore the issue, it takes a determined and strong person to admit there is a problem and attempt to resolve it.
Take care and keep us posted.

i have been having issues with some of my coworkers for some time now. one bullies me which just keeps me down. i was recently assaulted by an out of town coworker, which has set me further back.

however, my husband has been out of work since july, and is not really looking anymore. my son is in his second year of college and i am the only income, and i have the insurance.

how do you not quit? i want to quit because of the bully, the lack of support overall (i understand it may not be all that bad, but my depression makes it worse), i want to quit because it it just too hard to get up and move anymore, and i don't want to have to keep pretending that nothing ever happeend with that out of towner who i still have to work with.

if i take a leave, my income drops to 66%, plus i have to pay my insurance premiums. not the best choice. finding a job in this economy, in this area of the country, is all but impossible. plus i would have an insurance gap. i certainly can't afford cobra payments with my husband out of work.

how do you keep getting up and going in each and every day?
