Hello Superhornet,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

You have reached a wonderful place for sharing, venting and obtaining advice and encouragement. Working through the sessions as you are doing will assist you in understanding the condition better, as well as devising strategies to help you overcome your concerns. It is strongly advised that you work through the program and sessions for a successful outcome.

You mentioned that you feel that environment plays a significant role in your life and the depression you feel - can you elaborate on that and how you feel the environment impacts your mental wellbeing?

Please keep us posted on how you are doing and continue to lean on us for support.

Hi there,

I just joined the forum yesterday.  I recently started on anti-depressants again. I am not a huge fan of them because on their own, I dont think they work.  I have had depression on and off ever since I can remember.  The last three years has been really rough for me.  My worst bout was when I was 19, but I'm not sure I can compare that episode with this one because both episodes seem very different from each other.  Each carry a few similar traits.  I think enviornment plays a huge role in my life and can trigger my depression.  In saying that, I dont know if having a family history of depression is a proven thing or not but if it is, both my mother and my father suffer it.  In which case I guess I had a 100% chance of getting depression too.   I dont know what it is like to feel really happy within myself.  I would really like to know what it is like though.  It feels a bit like a fantasy thing people talk about.  Some magical place I dont understand or bit like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
Currently I have no support networks because of waiting lists.  I found this site last night when i was doing a google search on depression help online.  I am hoping that until some supports become available to me that this can act as a substitute and I can at least try and learn some skills to help overcome my depression.  I just finished reading the intro, so for the next week I'll be monitoring my moods and completing the activity tracker.
