Wildcat,

It's never easy when little ones aren't feeling well. Hope she feels better soon, and hopefully things will be a little easyer and less stressful for you.  Keep posting and letting us know how you're doing, it's a great way to express yourself openly, all ear are open here!

All the best,

forget the ideas ... Cocotte had her own.

My daughter was a perfect little ms jeckel at school and as we got her and her brother dressed and walked to the car I saw her transfor into Hyde.  I swear!  the walk, the talk every thing it was scary; so by the time she dragged she carcas into the car I had the evil twin crying and screaching.  I spent a rotten day at school, it was noisy and it hurt my ears. I am tired and you do not care if I am sick.  I am afraid to get out of the car alone and fall into the road.  You always listen to him first.  I do not want to go pick up papa at his bus stop I am warm at home and I am not going anywhere.
and all the while  2 hours straight of .  so I gave her advil for pain even if it is a diva thing or a real thing I give up! I made her gargle with the salt! and she had a cup of sauge/sage tea (a mild antisceptic like camomile but more effective).

She fell asleep at the table before papa  came home and scapled her.  He was MAD  MAD-DOG mad.  He froze for an hour waiting for the bus to get home.  after he organised a special day with her aunt to get her ears pierced as a birthday present...  the estranged aunt who is separated from his brother that is her god-mother and she aaadddordes!!!  On the day that started with a bus driver on our street who criticized papa for roughly grabbing cocotte from the snow banks in the street and ploping her on the side walk and stepping back so as to scaple her for scaring him.

Cocotte has a swollen throat that is pressing on her ears but nothing else.  No fever, so her body is handling the worst of the infection.  The problem is she has a very low tolerance for discomfort and no tolerance for pain.  So if suffers on mange tous la clac, we all suffer.

Goofy,
I like the idea of others being jealous. I have this intelligent kid that I can talk to and tell what I am doing.  I can straight out name the emotional and physical consequences of her actions and even if she is a tiny thing of 6 she understands. No beating arout the bush.  we killed the bush! ripped it up roots and all!!!

chouette and I often talk about what it is going to be like to have barely comprehensible teens in the house... some-times in the house...  we know the one to ten phase is the most intense so we do not have must left to enjoy really.  soon they will not want to cuddle and hug the old-folk.  they will not ask us about how the world works.   we will not be their encycolpedia for much longer.  so e take a few short breaks now and again but know that really our time is running out and soon we will be free to have that hour in the evening to ourself.  we will be able find time to have fun and unwind from our day.

until that time i have a stop watch running 1-2-3-4-5....

I still have the sore back.  I am getting more rest but I think I need to get the sleep pills, I am starting to get mad at the people in my other office.  -their drinking water is poisoning them-

THe cold and yesterday's storm is making the kids sleepy so a bit easier to direct!  and cocotte less reactive.  I had enough of the when you raise your voice it hurts my ears so I leave the room till you calm down.  And it hurts my feelings that you do not speak calmly to me, I am not a baby I understand perfectly well what you say to me.  She is 6 and trying to manipulate me ME! through reason....  what am I going to do in 8 years??? with her????

Now I am wondering about my husband's xmas party.  Always a suit and tie thing.  I have out grown most of my nice stuff!  so do I not care and wear a blouse and jeans.  I really can not afford something new nor a new used something.

---ah but a painted jean? a beaded jean ??  I have an idea tonight.... we'll see

Wildcat,
I only had one child, but I know how stressful one can be.  I've been told by a girlfriend if you have 2 you need to multiply that one by 3.  Cause you have each individual child and then their interactions with each other.  Then add a husband - ha!  You do have your hands full.
It sounds as if you have many positive parenting qualities.  You take the high road, the hard road and are a disciplinarian...it's easier to just give in, let them have their way, etc.  Snickers of jealousy maybe, snickers because they can relate....it does not matter, you are doing what you think is best and it is the toughest route - but in the end is the pay off, with a respectful, well-behaved child.  Keep up the hard work....sounds like you are doing great!
I do have to say, that I think you and I both need to take the time for ourselves though.  Among all the activities that we have going on, we've seem to forgotten ourselves.  Without us, we cannot take care of them.  Let's work on that.
Rose306 gave many home remedies that I was brought up with the hot steam, the gargling and momma always fixed a hot totty, is what she called it.  Warm tea, a bit of honey, water and a dash of whiskey (we didn't know it was in there until after we were grown).  She always bought into the eucalyptus whatever  - I smelled that so much in my life!!!!!  I guess, use at your own risk...but I know I survived and my son did too.
Hope you take that time for you, your children get better and you have some R & R (rest and relaxation).  I know that is difficult with children.

hi rose ... my husband never let me use the leash!!!  so he got to carry the screeaching kids .
I threatened to grab their coats and drag them like babys about to run in the street!  or i would strangle them with the hood of a coat or a scarf...   we only lost my son twice in department stores, and once my daughter.

I usuall gargle with salt,  i am afraid if poisoning myself.    and no anxiety meds, i row that boat alone (and i sometimes turn in circles, oh well the scenery is nice).

wildcat,

It definitely sounds like you need to take a little time for yourself! Put aside an hour in your day for you.
You have a lot on your plate and you should be taking some time to unwind and worry about your own physical and mental health! Hang in there, you know we're always here for you

wow! you have your hands full and then some.....you did the right thing in the grocery store, other people snicker because they've probably been there themselves. yes, they can be brats - i love that word! mine would run off sometimes if i let go off his hand and i put him on a leash at amusement parks, etc. talk about the looks! like daggers - is your child a dog? no - but i don't want to lose him!!!! you gotta do what you gotta do. it's rough being the caretaker of 1, let alone 4! maybe up your anxiety meds? glad that you're back and talking, you're so smart - you'll get through this p.s. gargle with hydrogen peroxide - kills whatevers down there cheaply - and you know, i can't say enough good things about peppermint tea  also, put a big pot of water to boil throw in some rosemary or ecalytus, throw towel over your head and keep breathing until you clear all the snot out of your head - gross, yes - but that's where the germs are. and lysol - what a great product!

hi gang,

I have been so caught up with everything in my life that I have been ignoring me!

Dec 2 I went with my son to his dr for the usual follow up to his ADD and concerta.  He is still growing and the minimal doses still work so that is great!  but like my father's-sister and I, my son is starting Migraine.  10 years old and days and days of pain.  All the dr can suggest is rest and advil/motrin.  So I took Tigre to an osteopath and he has a c3 sensitivity; an middle-aged executive's complaint!!! the third vertebrae's has a tiny inflamation and lots of tension.  the L7 has a posture thing!  like I could not tell with the dinner time slump...  And and osteopath sees the body in terms of 4 major meridians; lines of forces that govern the body.  Usually, one is out of alignement and that is what causes dis-ease; dis-confort.  Well Tigre has 3 of the 4 out of alignement.  So the osteopath wants us to see a chinese acupunturist who also studied medicine at the well know university here before the osteopath will do anything.  The osteopath said that he could releave a bit of the symptomes but really do nothing and it would only end up costing a lot.    And to top it off Tigre now has a really nasty throat infection that absolutely needs anti-biotics and rest and advil ... and water and he wants video games!
I feel lost and guilty in this no mans land!

My cocotte has a swallen troath as well but her body has fought the infection ... and if her mood is any indiction that virus ran away with the tail beween legs to her brother!  She has been nother but a BRAT for two weeks!  Between her upcoming birthday, Christmas, the spectacles at school and her danse class, and the virus  And we have heard is I want and do you know how much pain you have cause me?  In one grocery story -over popcicles-  I said yes I know and it is part of your punishment for throwing yourself on the floor and crying like a 3 year old for popcicles.  I am hurting you on purpose calling you a baby !  so that you will think like a big girl and ask nicely for some thing reasonable!
Why do other parents snicker at me?  and grandparent outright laugh?

My Chouette, loving husband had the same infection all week.  He wanted to rock the daughter and watch a girl film with her in the hammoch which was not hung right.  He fell to the floor and got the nice piece of sawed pipe in the fore head.  Blood all over!!! my daughter was calling me; maman, papa is bleeding, papa is bleeding.  So gauze squares, rolls, and a nice big towel!  and voila nothing shows three minutes later.  Daughter is back in lap and I am watching one for comotion-cerebral, another for run away fever.

And me in all this?  I have ignored stress at work.  It will soon be the vacation and sick day festival time of the year.  And that also coincides with a small peak because those left to work make a mess that i have to try to work out of fix some time soon after.   I have not been taking time for my little pleasures.  There is a stupid reason why I took up beading!   I buy bags of a million t-i-n-y  but t-i-n-y seed mixed colour beads and I sort the colours.  It is exactly like doing a puzzle but there is the three dimentional component of feeling the beads.  And I have touched these in a month.  My regular puzzles are also alone downstairs collecting dust.  I did see the psychologist when I nearly dragged my boss to H/R and had a jealous fit... and she said these a
