Medicine making me suicidal

Y'know, my attorney asked me the same question I've been asking: "Why are you going back to the same doctor and psychiatrist that messed you up the first time?" I don't really have an answer for that. I suppose I can blame the psychiatrist at the hospital... See, he wanted to keep me there forever, but I wanted to go home. He made me promise to go see my psychiatrist in exchange for allowing me to leave. I asked him the same question. He said that it's hard to get outpatient psychiatric treatment, so if I quit my current psychiatrist, I'd have to stay in the hospital. As far as my doctor? OK. He's been a tinge uncooperative. I told him what they told me at the hospital and he froze up on me... then I went to see him yesterday and he's wanting to write me all the same old scripts again. Dawg! I'm really in a mess. Speaking of messes... I'm going to have to go to jail. I sure hope I don't have to stay in there for long. I'm trying really hard not to get depressed about it too. Null

NullPointer, Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Unfortunately, the best advice we can give you is to keep working through this issue with your psych and doctor. Voice your concerns and keep them in the know of any withdrawal symptoms you may be experiencing. Hang in there. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

hi nullpointer, how about an exercise in changing your think pattern? It might help change some of your mood??? Okay, instead of the doctors being aloof and fearful of lawsuits... lets say they are concerned that you were doing okay for a while and with stress the meds reacted poorly. Perhaps they are not aloof, they need to let your body heal from the trauma of a suicide attempt. They need your body to metabolise all the remains of the old meds before starting on a new course. Perhaps the docs are discouraged because the coctails you had was choice number one and the poor preformance of this choice is pushing them towards choice 3 or 5??? with a significant rate of faileur there...? As someone with depression I recognise your discouragement and the habits we have ... thinking negatively, waiting for a catastrophie to hit... I hope that I can give you a new road to explore with a bit more hope at the end...

Hey llama, My life is not going well right now. I got fired and I think it was my decision to get fired on purpose. Then I was in the hospital for about a week. Then to make things even more fun I had a pulmonary embolism and have to this point survived it. My good friend? Yes... gone. As far as my wife goes, I think I've not been thinking well for months. Maybe I wasn't understanding things properly. I wouldn't say things are going great between us, but they do seem to be better. The doctors from the hospital took me off three of the four medications I was on. My doctor and my psych are so aloof. I told them what happened at the hospital and now they seem to be leary of doing anything concerning my medication. I think they're worried that I will sue them for damages. How am I doing without those extra meds? Well, I can't sleep and I'm plagued with fear attacks. Other than that I'm about the same. I do seem to be thinking a little bit better though. Thanks for asking. Null

Well, did the doctors change your meds, Null? And how is it going with the rest of your domestic problems... are you making clearer decisions about how you want to live the life you've got? What does that good friend of yours think about your state of being right now... is she being a good friend to you and helping you deal with it all?? The doctors at the hospital said that the combination of meds I've been taking has made me self-destructive and suicidal. Now doc and psych are getting all chilly on me. I think they're worried since they are the ones who prescribed the meds to start with. I think they're afraid of getting sued. Great. Now I'm even more alone than before.
