constant fatigue

Hi Guys, Thanks for your input and support. The back op went well. I am in some pain today but only as expected. I havent been brave enough to start the new meds but will take the plunge with the first tab tonight. Had a big row with the husband 1st thing this morning. I think it was my fault. I didnt get the best nights sleep and he thought he was being helpful in asking for the grocery list as soon as i was awake. I thought his 1st question should have been to ask me how i was feeling. Such stupid things cause major row's. I just wonder how much of all this is menopause although i am on H.R.T and how much is depression and how much to do with pain or am i just horrible? Paisley, you are the same age as myself, how you coping with the menopause, any symptoms? Still, i have my cousins 50th birthday party this weekend and come hell or high water i will make myself go. Havent seen that part of my family for years so should be interesting catching up and meeting some of the children who are now in their 20's. My Husband never cared to socialise with my family over the years but i am now insisting that i go alone or he can choose to come. Hope you guys have a good weekend. x

Good luck with the meds Gabs and I hope that the operation (procedure) today went well for you... Hi, Paisley! Don't worry about the age thing... we all started out at 108 yrs of age on this site and i never asked why that was... but just ignore it...

Gabs, I have similar issues. No desire to get up get anything but the minimum done. I work, I do chores, I pay bills--------- Very difficult to take another step ahead. I have a mountain of projects to take care of...I want to get excited about life! ps-my profile says I am 108, operator error= 54years old.

Thanks wildcat, have been given new meds that i will start Friday. Go into hospital Thurs for another back procedure. 3rd night no sleep yet i am exhausted. Sitting up alone worrying about the bloody hospital although i know it will be fine. Its just that i feel so alone. I know that the only one who can sort me out is me but sometimes it would be nice to have a cuddle or at least a bit of understanding. maybe the new meds will have me back feeling o.k soon but i am anxious about the side effects. Still they are supposed to help with my anxiety so fingers crossed! Sylvie, I do love travel and a vacation would be wonderful but i have only been back a month from a month long vacation! I did feel better while i was away so maybe a 6 month vacation would be the way forward. Unfortunately finances just wouldnt allow for another break for a good while. The theatre is out for the time being too as i cant sit for long. The only other thing i really enjoy is chocolate an i have to say i have over indulged this easter. Eating is something that i can do though so i intend to carry on with the chocolate for a while!

Hi Gabs, just a little reminder that exhaustion/fatigue is a normal symptom of depression... and if you are bumping along on your own (no meds) it is normal to feel it more. So take heart you are driving into the wilderness without a map nor clue. what is it like where you are? I am in southern Quebec, Canada and it is Horrible!!! at this time of year the temperature is around 5 to 10 degrees and the snow is mostly melted!!! Spring should be in the air... and we are burried under a metre and a half of white-s*** the temps are sill under the freezing point... it is still bl**** winter! and it is driving EVERYONE nuts. I know the meds are harsh. Oh man i have been there... oh bad news is coming in... gotta go...

gabs, How about trying an activity that you enjoy. Your profile says that you enjoy theater, and travel. Maybe it's time for a vacation? This may give you inspiration and motivation. Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

Hi All, I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired, does any one else feel like this? Its like being exhausted with being exhausted. I have slowly come off of my anti depressant medication so that i may start on different meds later this week. It has been a struggle to get off these things as the withdrawel is terrible. I am also anxious of starting the new meds as am afraid of the side effects as i have had a bad reaction before. This is not a negative response, i have examined the evidence to suggest that this is true and it is! The thing that is getting to me more than anything else though is the constant tiredness and just wanting to get into my bed. I feel so weak, its almost like my muscles have forgotten how to work. what happened to muscle memory, whats happened to my memory? I have no motivation to do anything. Everything is a chore. I just cant be bothered. What a waste of a life. My life. I need to get a grip.
