Hi CM, Welcome aboard! Sleep can negatively affect mood. Please be sure to read through our lifestyle section. There you'll find some great tips to try and get back in a regular sleep cycle. We also encourage you to begin tracking your moods via the mood tracker and reading through the sessions of the program. Keep us posted. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Welcome canadian Mom, The site has some fantastic people that are here for you and offer great advise. I hope you find it as helpful as it has been to me. Work the sessions, they do help, I wish i could say they get easier but they are hard work! To me any way. I think when you are depressed almost anything is hard work. keep posting and good luck. x

Welcome Canadian_Mom. I'm one of those folks who believe everything happens for a reason and maybe your being led here will turn out to be the best thing for you? I'm new here too, just working through the first session and getting to know the people. I've found this place a safe haven filled with people who understand what I'm going through and offer up some much appreciated support. I'm sure you will too! Looking forward to getting to know you better. :)

Hi. I'm new. I decided to try this program out because my doctor has told me that he doesn't think that anti-depressants will work for me, and I can't afford counseling right now. I'm on a wait list for subsidized counseling, and hoping that i get in soon. But for now, this is it. It's funny because in the past, my old Doctor used to put me on anti-depressants every time I told him I was tired. (I kept telling him I wasn't depressed, just had a problem with my sleep). Now that i have been diagnosed with a sleep disorder, and feel depressed, my new doctor won't give me the meds. Weird how different Doctor's work different ways. But I'm glad the new one doesn't want to drug me into a zombie like state like the last one did. Anyway, here I am, hoping that this will help me get over this bout of depression. "Situational depression" as it's been called. I can't change the situations, but with help, I'm sure I can change how my mind and body react to them. Here's hoping this site helps me as much as the stopsmokingcenter.net did.
