Julie, This may not be something you can deal with on your own. Please seek outside assistance from your doctor or mental health unit. You don't have to do this alone and there is help out there for you. Just reach for it. If you don't know where to find this assistance, check the following sites. They are a great ressource: If you live in Canada: http://www.cmha.ca/bins/content_page.asp?cid=4&lang=1 If you live in the US: http://mentalhealth.samhsa.gov/ Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

hi, i am really dragging everyone around me down with this and i feel so guilty but i just can't stop. i tried eating to keep everyone else happy but i couldn't do it, had to get the food out as quick as possible, have now started to vomit blood and it did scare me but not enough to make me stop. i am on the verge of collapse all the time, but that is about the only time that i actually feel better, which sounds crazy.

Hi Julie, I am glad to hear from you! It takes a lot of courage to be so open with your doctor. Seeking the right help is so important right now. Good for you for taking this initial step. Remember, one day at a time. Take care of yoruself, we are here for you Mona

just to update everyone, i saw my doc this morning and confessed all, not easy and involved a lot of tears, but i did it. anyway, she wasn't that bothered about the fact i haven't eaten a real meal in 6 weeks and have lost nearly 30lbs, even when i admitted that for the past few weeks i had been survivng on coffee alone, which i have now cut out, and am now living on lovely lemon juice and water. I seem to get some sick thrill from making sure everyone knows how much i am starving myself, so not the usual anorexic tendency to hide the problem. i really don't know where my head is at right now or when i am going to feel i have self destructed enough.

Dear Julie, Weight control is an issue I have had personal experience with and I can't encourage you enough to please speak with your doctor. I know it is hard and normal to be scared. I am not sure how old you are, but my issues with weight started in my teen years and this further led to lots of other issues, especially my depression which I am still struggling with. Let us know how you are, Mona

Julie, If you feel as though your life is out of control, it's not suprising you've zeroed in on your weight - something you can control. That being said, you should seek outside help for this issue. You don't have to do this alone and you can overcome this. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

i have suffered on and off with depression for many years and currently feel that everything is out of my control, this episode has been different to any other that i have had and it has left me very scared and confused. As a result of this, i have been starving myself, and i mean really starving myself until i get some strange satisfaction from collapsing.I have been doing this for a month now, some days eating nothing at all, other days i will eat maybe 2 crisps, and surviving on hundreds of cups of coffee, but i am now considering cutting them out too just to prove i can control that, i know i need help, but i am so scared.
