The Depression Center offers personalized, interactive tools that have helped thousands of people challenge and overcome their depression. The core of the Depression Center is our Depression Program which is an interactive, 16-session cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)course. When using cognitive behavioral therapy, each person has unique goals in their treatment. Whatever your motivation, cognitive behavioral therapy is a very effective treatment for depression. You can use the tools whether or not you are taking medication, and whether or not you are currently seeing a therapist or mental health professional. Hi everyone, In brief, I'm 45 years old and in the military. My pdoc has diagnosed me with (so far) MDD, ADD, GAD, and OCD. I also have really bad insomnia. I'm currently taking Wellbutrin 450 mg, am weaning off Effexor XR, and just started taking Remeron a few days ago. I'm at 15mg of Remeron and will be ramping up on that soon. I also take Ambien and Lunesta every night for sleep. So far I've also tried Zoloft, Prozac, and Concerta, all of which either failed to help or had such bad side effects I had to discontinue taking them. We're still working on meds and diagnoses, so things will continue to evolve in the coming months... I've been dealing with most of these symptoms for about 5 years, and I definitely waited too long to seek help. Two reasons for that- 1) I didn't want to deal with the stigma sometimes associated with any form of mental illness, and 2) it is usually a career ender in the military. However, when I began seriously contemplating suicide I figured it was time to do something, regardless of what people thought or what effects it might have on my career. Anyway, I look forward to talking to folks around here. Take Care!
