Orchid, Please take advantage of our CBT program. It will further your understanding of depression and its effects on you. Also be sure to keep utilizing our support group. It may be helpful for you to interact with people who are also facing the same struggles. We hope to hear from you again soon. Danielle _____________________ The DC Support Team

Hi Orchid, I'm currently struggling through my 2nd depressive episode - my first hit when I was 16 and was accompanied by a nervous breakdown. I managed to get through that crisis but it's reared its ugly head up again recently and I now understand I didn't resolve any of the issues that caused my depression to begin with. I was just waiting for the storm to pass I guess. You say you have a better understanding of what is going on with you - do you know what triggers your depression or what contributes to it? Have you got a plan on how to release these things so you can let yourself get better?

All I can say is that my girlfriend has been suffering from depression for at least 2 years, and I can honestly say that I didn't understand what she was going through until I became depressed myself. I plan to work together, and with the resources available from Lifeworks to overcome our depression together. I'm sure it will help to have someone that really understands depression. Education is the key in my opinion.

I've been deally with depression for years. Within the last year I've been put on Effexor 225 and Ativan, been in therapy, reading the feeling better handbook and now this site. Unfortunitly nothing seems to be working. I now have a better understanding about what is going on with me but don't seem to be getting any better. If anything feeling worse. Any suggestions?
