Blue_Steel; Looks strong but flawed

Hi Blue_Steel. Sounds like you can pull off the same "trick" that I could. Screaming in pain on the inside, but can turn around and put on that invincible mask for the world. I hate it, but I'm good at it. Sometimes I tend to get lost on what normal is. My male co-workers that I can talk to reassure me that no, it is not normal for a man to threaten to hurt somebody he loves. Does that mean I have no backbone, no self-respect, or a heart bigger than my brain?

Blue_steel, Welcome to the Depression Center and thanks for sharing your story! When logging into the Depression Center, at the top of the screen, you'll see a blue icon marked session diary. This diary contains all the program tools, exercises and worksheets. In the session diary, you'll see an underlined icon marked: click here to start your next session. The pace in which you move through the program is entirely up to you. If you have any other questions about depression or the program tools, just ask. We are always here to help. Hi, I'm new (no suprise, huh?). If anyone could offer information on using this program it would be beneficial to me. I guess I don't understand how to use the diary and when to move on to the next session. As to my personal information, I have been depressed as long as I can remember. During my childhood I was sexually abused which continued into pre-adulthood, at which point I was invovled in a relationship that I was physically abused, after that I entered a 12 year marriage that I was mentally abused. I haven't spoken to my father in over two years. The last time we had any interaction, he grabbed me by the throat and pinned me against a wall and said he would like to take me out. My mother is a slob. I grew up in pig pin (which by today's standards would be considered neglect and abuse). Still, even with my experiences, I have clear understanding of how 'normal' people live. I can maintain an above normal 'picture' for at least two years until things fall apart (I attribute that to the military). To those who have read this; thank you. I look forward to growing and, perhaps, overcoming my shortcomings and getting along like everyone else.
