Hope this finds you feeling better every day. I just wanted you to know there are people out here who understand what it is like to feel severely depressed. The worst part of my day is usually trying to get out of bed in the morning and getting anything done. I feel as if my body weighs 100 tons and all I want to do is lay in bed. Medication sometimes helps, so if you haven't tried that and you aren't already on something, you might want to consider it. Anyway, just know there are others out here who understand what it's like and who are thinking of you. Be well.

Alicia, Welcome to The Depression Center. Within our online support group you will find that we are an open and honest community that discusses and educates each other about depression. The Depression Center offers personalized, interactive tools that have helped thousands of people challenge and overcome their depression. The core of the Depression Center is the Depression Program, an interactive, 16-session cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) course. Alicia, each person has unique goals in their treatment. Whatever your motivation, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a very effective treatment for depression. You can use the tools whether or not you are taking medication, and whether or not you are currently seeing a therapist or mental health professional. The Depression Program has a number of tools and resources to help each individual overcome their depression and win. We look forward to hearing from you again soon :). I have severe depression and it only seems to have gotten a lot worse lately. I'm on meds but have also been looking into other ways to help myself. I found many helpful things online, including this site. I just hope to be able to have people to talk to who understand me. My family just tells me that things aren't that bad which doesn't make me feel any better. Hopefully there are people on here that "get" me and that I can talk to as I try to feel better.
