I'm new to depression

Kartogis, Sorry to hear you're having a rough day. What kind of problems are you encountering at work? Some members find it helpful to set up small goals to get tasks accomplished. What are you doing to challenge your negative thoughts? Why not try to turn them into positives? If you're struggling at work, why not write out a list of the areas you need to improve on and start trying to improve those areas one by one. Again, you can break this task down into mini-goals if it seems too daunting. You can do this! Keep us posted! We'll help you every step of the way. Hi Valerie!! Welcome! Glad you made it out here. We have all been where you before. We got diagnosed, had to find the right meds, and then had to turn around and fix the mess we'd made of our lives. I've found that I just need to be more honest with my family. Like, "I'm coming out today, but I'm really tired....I really don't feel like coming, but I want to. So I'll be there. See you soon, ok? Love you." OR "You know what? This is a crappy evening for me to talk about this...I feel awful and depressed. Can we talk and make this decision in a few days when I feel better?" sigh. it's super super rough. I am with ya girl. But another thing that will help you is to go through the program they have here with all the worksheets and such. They are AMAZING! Anytime you have question, concerns or just need to vent, pop over here and let us know. We're all here for each other...and 2 (or 45) head are better than one. :)

feeling like crap today, told my boss i'm ineffective and incompetent for the job he hired me for. probably will lose my job, dont really care. i dont want to work. i just want to help people and know that i will live off the good spirit, not the actual money. now that's a fantasy that will happen someday, tho right now it seems way too far away. i keep praying.

I just found out I have depression. I was put on Serafem for PMS disorder by my GYN about 2 years ago. I told her I had mood swings, so she prescribed this medication and took it most of the time. I never noticed a difference in my moods and neither did anyone else. I was using it until my insurance changed and it wasn't on the list and became too expensive to afford monthly. My doctor called in a RX for Prozac. Well, all I did was cry over everything all day every day. I started a new relationship 6 months ago and it has progressed very fast. It's been something new to me. I've been divorced for the past 9 years and haven't lived with anyone until him. Things are very up and down with us almost on a every other day schedule. It's very difficult to deal with. I took Prozac for almost 2 weeks before asking my doctor to prescribe something else. I'm now on Lexapro, which my fiance is also taking. It's better, but I'm very depressed about our relationship and we are unable to communicate. When things are great, they are great. When they are horrible, they are horrible. There's very little middle ground. Does anyone have the same feelings? I feel like I am all alone out here. My fiance recommeded this site to me tonight. He's in the medical field and wants to help.
