Claire, I'm so sorry it has taken so long for a response. I have been totally swamped at work and I haven't had time to be on the computer at all. Thanks so much for sharing with us. It is so nice to hear you have such a supportive husband. I also would not be here if it weren't for my husband. I have suffered with depression for as long as I can remember, but my worst episode came about 8 or 9 years ago. I couldn't feel anything except anger, and so I was angry all the time. I couldn't get out of bed and had stopped eating. My husband wouldn't let me drive anywhere because I always talked about going left of center, so I couldn't even get out of the house much. He wasn't trying to isolate me, but protect me. He finally insisted I go to the hospital. They didn't keep me but for two days, and started me on meds and therapy. I have never gone back down that far, but definitely understand setbacks. They usually come at times of great stress in my life, but sometimes they just come out of the blue. Know that you can certainly count on a shoulder and lots of support. Kelly

Hi claire, Thanks for sharing your introduction here with us. You have found a great place to share your feelings of depression with members who truly understand what it is like to experience depression. In addition to these anonymous discussions and our online depression test, we have a free online depression program. As you move through the Depression Program the worksheets will change as you change. Make sure you give yourself time to do the homework properly - you know your depression best so it's really up to you to decide how often you do your homework. Take your time when you do your homework, there is no rush! Each session in the Depression Program is based on previous sessions, and if you track your mood with your Mood Tracker (and keep notes in the spaces provided) you'll see much improvement over the coming weeks. At the beginning of each session we give you a Weekly Review, which allows you to see how far you've progressed. We save your Weekly Review results in your Session Diary, so you will see a collection of results, which are all based on what you write in your worksheets. CBT is a lot of work but the good news is that if you follow the program it will all come together for you as you start to feel better. my name is claire i'm 32 and have suffered with depression and social phobia for nearly 3 years now.i keep having really bad setbacks which make me feel really low.i am married to a wonderful man who keeps me going and gives me the light at the end of the tunnel if it wern't for him i would probably be dead now.i find it hard to meet new people so i am hoping i can make some new friends here.it helps me a lot to know i will be around people who understand what i'm feeling so please give me lots of support and a shoulder to cry on.thanks for taking the time to read this and i hope to hear from you all soon. claire x
