Brianzgirl, I sure can relate to not wanting to visit the site or do much of anything involving people, so don't worry. I'm sorry things are a little up and down lately. Do you know if your doctor can insist on your use of the real thing instead of a generic? I know my doctor did that with my synthroid and the insurance company complied. You may want to at least ask. Things here are so so. I have really been having a rough time for about the last week or so. I can barely make it up for work (actually I didn't on Monday)and feel like I'm on the verge of tears most of the time. Things have been a little hectic at work lately, and that hasn't helped. There are several staff issues, and my students have been really off the wall. I haven't attended anything I had scheduled in the evenings. I always feel so guilty because I feel like I'm letting people down and they don't really understand. I always feel like people are judging me. Sorry for babbling... I hope you get your med issues worked out. Keep in touch! Kelly

Hi Kelly, Well, I haven't felt like visiting the site, or doing much of anything. I went back for my recheck and she upped the Effexor XR to 300 mg. I think I'm doing better, but I wonder if I can beat it, because I always feel better a few weeks after upping or starting a new med, and then go back. I am also seeing my therapist again, so maybe the combination will help. Now they make generic Xanax Xr, and my insurance makes me get the generic if it's available, and I asked my pdoc if it's possible that it's not staying with me or doing the job as good as it the real thing, and she said yes, it only has to be within 20% of the name brand, so she told me I could take 2, or 1 twice a day. I tried that and was so sleepy, but I did feel better, but I decided I didn't want to do that so I called and she told me late in the evening I could take the regular Xanax if I needed it. Sorry for going on & on. Thanks for asking (& listening) & I hope you are doing o.k. as well!

BRIANSZGIRL, Please know, I am new to the site, but rest assured you are not the only one with chronic depression. I'm 32, and have had it since at least the age of five - that's 27 years. I see it in my 14-year old son - it's genetic - and have lost touch with the rest of my family. My boyfreind's family thinks I should just "snap out of it" and it's a real pain (in the buns). My idiot therapist tells me I'm a strong person, but I don't feel that way anymore. I used to be when I was a teen. Not now.

I'm so sorry about your dad. It's great you have a supportive family. I'm glad your doing good. That's funny regarding the appointments!! I hope you continue to do well.

Brianzgirl, I'm so glad things are going well!!! Gotta love those supportive husbands don't ya???!!!! :) It sounds like we have both been very blessed in that department. Things here are going pretty well also. I had to laugh the other day, when I had a psychologist appointment and a massage therapy appointment that in the famous words of Allanis Moresette--isn't it ironic? My psychologist didn't make me cry but my massage therapist did! :) Anyway, I've been working through a lot of junk with my therapist about my dad's death. (February 26th was the one year anniversary) He's had me do some really helpful activities, to try to deal with it. My dad and I were very close, and it has been a long haul, but I think it's getting better. The anniversary day actually went better than I thought it would. My family all got together and had dinner, then went to the cemetary. Hope things continue on the upward trail! Kelly

Kelly, Thanks for asking. Actually, pretty well. I wasn't so sure at first, but I think I am getting over the "slump"!! YEAH!! I added a multivitamin, gensing, and omega and I'm not sure which is helping, probably my very supportive husband to be honest. But I do feel better. How bout you? How's it going with you?

Kelly, Well I think my appt went good. She put me back on the Xanax XR 1 mg and upped my Effexor XR to 225 mg. I have a good feeling about her and this combo. Maybe, just maybe, I am on the road to recovery!! Thanks for asking.
