I have gone downhill fast

Kelly, Thanks and welcome to the group. I am getting more nervous each hour abou t my return to work tomorrow. In 12 hours I would have left to go to work. I have to ride public transport in peak hour for about 35 minutes, but if I need to get off I can about every 2 minutes. I am looking forward to going for coffee with some old friends. I was also lucky that my work kept my job for me, but by all accounts I am going back to a mess. My only concern is that I don't become a martyr again and try and take on everything and fix everything instantly. Are you currently working? Where do you live? Do you suffer anything else besides depression. Take care Sharon

Happy New Year to you too Sharon lets hope this year will be better then the last :) Im sure its perfectly normal to feel nervous and anxious about going back to work perhaps thats the reason why you are having a rough time emotionally give it a go and see how you go just dont pressure yourself.make sure you let me know how you go.I have faith in you and dont be hard on yourself if you find it hard at first thats to be expected. Im waiting on a call from a lady about another house which is quite close to my sons school so fingers crossed. My husband has been unusually nice to me for the past few days like actually going out of his way to do and say nice things :quest: i dont really know what to make of it to be honest its been that long since ive seen this side of him i am a little reserved i dont want to get hurt again so i put up a wall and i wont let him hurt me but now hes being so nice i dont know what to do im so confused.I suppose i'll just see how long it lasts. I got a pair of gold hoop earings a pair of shoes and lots of gift cards at clothes shops for xmas as i havnt been able to leave the house i was running low on nice clothes so i went shopping and bought lots of nice new clothes and it really makes a difference when you know you look ok you feel a bit better about yourself.anyhow sorry for such a long post goodluck at work.Gabbi.

Sharon, I'm new to this group, and don't want to interfere with your discussion with Gabbi, but I was pretty moved by your postings. I was out of work for about 2 months when I was first diagnosed, and I know how paralyzing it can be at the prospect of going back. It is so important to just take one day at a time and make little goals for yourself. I know that may sound like a cliche, but I found that one day/one hour/or even one minute at a time is all I can do. Just know that I'll be praying for you as you start back to work. The ups and downs are very frustrating, but with support we will all get through it together. kelly

Happy New Year Gabbi, I am sorry to hear about the house but it obviously wasn't meant to be. You are right, good things to come to those who wait. Things here are okay. I am finding that my depression is creeping back in. I feel so emotional. My therapist thinks I have post-traumatic stress syndrome since approximately 1982. There always seems to be another label added on each couple of months. I am finding the therapy extremely difficult and it just sucks the life out of me. I can no longer my emotions. I cry alot of the time now for no apparent reason. I start back at work this week. I am in the office for 1/2 a day on Tuesday morning and Thursday morning and one full day at home. I really don't want to go back so we will have to wait and see how it goes. I am really nervous about going back. I am sure this is normal for anyone who has been away dealing with what I have been dealing with. How has your husband been? What did you get for Xmas? Best wishes and lots of love Sharon

Gabbi, I am doing really well. I have strung together 7 good days. I go back to work in less than a week. I am really excited as well as nervous about my return, but I am sure everything will be fine. How is your house hunting? Are you parents still with you? Did you and your kids have a good Xmas? Take care and love to all. Sharon

Kat: Things here are good. I don't know why I had a couple of bad days. I was thinking about my family alot so I am assuming that is why. I have also been struggling with the stomach flu. I am going to my aunt-in-law for Christmas Eve dinner and my mother-in-law for Christmas dinner. I am praying that everything works out fine. How are things going with you? What are your plans for Christmas? Love to all Sharon

Liz: Things here are good. Today is Christmas Eve and I am busy cleaning my house and my husbands grandmother stays with us tonight and she likes everything nice and neat. My kids are getting excited about Christmas. We have a family dinner tonight and tomorrow night. I hope everything works out and that I don't fall backwards. Take care and Merry Christmas Love to all Sharon
