Wellbutrin dosage > 450mg/day

Be cautious...I am on 450 mg's myself and have been over a year now. Thy psychiatrist emphatically warned me to MAKE SURE that I do not "overdose" by thinking I didn't take the med and take the dose a second time. He still worries about my being on 450 mg's for this reason. Get another opinion...talk to the pdoc Iif this is your primary care physician and not your psychiatrist...talk to a psychiatrist about it. Your Pdoc is playing Russian roulette with you right now. I would hate for anything to happen to you because of his/her ignorance to the effects of the med. Take care and please keep me posted. DO NOT INCREASE THIS MED UNTIL YOU HAVE DISCUSSED THE RISK FACTORS!

I've been on Wellbutrin for a while now...at least 3 years. I saw a new pdoc this past July and he increased my dosage from 450 mg to 500 mg a day and wants to increase it to 600 mg. From what I've read 450 is the maximum dosage usually prescribed because above 450 the risk of seizure increases. Is anyone else on Wellbutrin above 450 mg? Can anyone point me to current studies which evaluate the efficacy versus risk of dosage above 450? ~Isil'zha veni~
