Hi, Just say "fine thanks and you?"...all acquaintances are really doing is saying hello. However! Be sure you have people in your life who care about you with whom you can really talk and talk often. It is very hard but I think we all have to work at not inflicting ourselves on others particularly when depressed...even if it feels like we aren't being "honest" in our reply. Trisha

hello acquantances (sp?) come up to me ocassionally and say: "bob is that you?...you've lost so much weight...you look so good." they might also say: "you're not sick are you?" i say thanks and reply that i've learned to love broccoli and keep my mouth shut..thats how i lost weight...i don't feel like saying well i have diabetes and I'm depressed...i'm fighting hard to survive...lifes a steep uphill battle. when someone says...how ya do'in and you feel rotten, what do you say? bob
