sleep

Hello Forum, It is common knowledge that sleep disturbance is a big part of depression.Has anyone experienced improvement of their sleep as their mood lifted? Does good mood and good rest go hand in hand? I am finding out that eventhough I feel better, I still wake up too many times and the episodic dreaming I experience isn't a true repose. I take a sedating AD but it still isn't helping and in the morning I am groggy. I have depended on a benzo tranquilizer to knock me out for 6-7 hours but I don't want to be hooked on it as I'm trying to wean myself after 2 months of use. I tried natural sedatives like Lemon Balm, Wild Oats and Valerian to no avail. I appreciate anyone's feed back on how their sleep was affected by ADs - whether they helped or not and the tranquilzer dilemma. Thanks.
