Hello. I wondered if any of you who are taking effexor rx have noticed an increase or a strong urge for alcohol. I was on zoloft for 3 years and then effexor for 3-4 years and through out that time alomost became an alcoholic. I am off of the effexor and found out afterward that there have been studies that zoloft and effexor can give you a craving for alcohol or increase the urge. Now that I am off of it, I no longer have that strong urge to drink. And this lessening started alomost immediately. Has anyone else had this type of experience and once you came off of the effexor did the urge for alcohol decrease immediately?
