Kevin, Japan sounds exciting. Concentrate on the positive effects of your trip. You will be helping lots of people. Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find our Depression Test. This test is not a diagnostic tool and is not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. Perhaps this willl better assess the situation for you. If you have any question or concerns with our site or please contact Support Department at support@depressioncenter.net. We are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Keep strong and use relaxation techniques to help sooth you. Early morning stretches are always helpful to release some tension. Hi, I read your post and thought I would reply... I have been on here for awhile but only post once in a while. If you are feeling awkward and having a hard time talking to people I can relate. When I get anxious I tend to withdraw and isolate from people to try and pull myself together. However I am on medication that is supposed to help with my anxiety. If you are having what you call one of your darker days then maybe you need to go and talk to your doctor about it...Just a suggestion. Hope you are doing well and all the best in your plans for Japan. Greenpearlz

Hi all, This is my first post to this group. I've been suffering from Depression and anxiety for about 10 years now, and have had periods of ups and downs. i'm also a member of the sister support group here with the panic center. i'm 28 and am about to embark on a trip to japan to teach english for a year. and i'm feeling extremely anxious about it. i'm a little worried about how much my depression will affect my work and enjoyment. today i haven't been feeling too well. i'm not on any meds at all, but i've noticed that things are just a little "off" today. i'm uncomfortable talking to people, and everything seems a little awkward. on good days things are fine, but today just happens to be one of those darker days. well, just thought i'd say hi to everyone.
