I was previously on 300mg Effexor. i was also on other meds most of that time too (divalproex and SEroquel). When I started the divalproex I got daily tension headaches. They eventually subsided. When I started Seroquel I got diharea, stomach acid in my throat, followed by a migrane once every three weeks or so. I also got those symptoms right when I started the Seroquel (while being simultaneously on Effexor and Divalproex). Eventually because of the headache, a shaking jaw, and potential for abuse, I decided to stop the Seroquel. My psychatrist at the time didn't have much faith in my complaints from the SEroquel because the headaches weren't regular enough and it wasn't a listed sideeffect. My best guess is that it was some kind of drug interaction.Or a unique problem. I have now been on Wellbutrin for 1 month and at the same time each night I get a headache. I've had so many headaches from drugs . I can't remember if I initially got headaches from Effexor when i wasn't taking anything else along with it. I probably did. I had to be careful abut taking acetacytacalacilic acid (asprin) when i was on divalproex (I took ibuprofin which was probably just as bad for my liver anyway). But probably , if you dont have liver or other drug considerations you can take some ibuprofin or asa or acetaminofen to help you out. Migranes are another level of problem though.
