Hi Peg: I took Zoloft for almost 5 years. My notes are not clear, but I believe that it has been 5 years since I stopped. Reviewing my notes, it is not clear why I stopped. I did so pursuant to a doctor's recommendation. I suspect that I switched from Zoloft to Celexa. I switched from Celexa to Lexapro in Feb of this year. I continue on Lexapro @ 20 mgd. I am not at all sure the Lexapro is helping. I have read (as I am sure you have) that Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro and Prozac are all SSRI's. What did the PA say was the reason to switch? (By the way, Wellbutrin is not (I think) an SSRI. So, I do not think your experience with Wellbutrin is relevant to the propriety of switching SSRI's.) According to The Pill Book, the usual dose of Paxil is 20 to 60 mgd, the usual dose of Zoloft is 50 to 200 mgd. Good luck. Larry G

i am a 46 y/o RN working nights. been on paxil for 4 years since a hysterectomy. have been down to 10 mg daily for a year. tried once to come off and go on wellbutrin, it was a disaster. have had panic disorder for 15 years, treated with xanax and can now drive interstates etc. but the depression looms over me like a dark cloud, especially since my divorce 3 years ago. anyway, to the point, the "PA" at my doctor's office told me to take 25mg zoloft with the 10 of paxil for 1 week, then go to 50 of zoloft??? anyone got answers. and yes, i have been on the therapy merry go round years ago, they all say the same thing. plese advise..thanks.
