Hi I know well how you feel, I have a similar situation too I work so much to gain my self confidence after an attack and I believe I can control it but exactly one moment everything becomes uncontrollable. I just want to finish my days and go to bed to think about my problem. But I get better with praying and calling God, I hope this program can help you and me and others who suffer from it

Hi Suefsa
I'm new here too, very new... how are you doing now?  Your post was a few weeks ago.
I so empathise with you, honestly, I've been there, very recently, but I think I've found a way out and it's such a relief.
I've only just started with this site, but I've also used Dr Claire Weekes' books and CDs, especially, 'self help for your nerves' and CD of 'pass through panic' - I'm not sure if i'm meant to recommend other things than this site, so hope I'm not doing wrong by this - basically Claire is the same in terms of the first section on here, telling you exactly what's going on when you feel anxious or panicky, but the CD lets you HEAR it, which I think helps me as it's different to just reading something.
The books are easy to read and MAKE SENSE and if you can understand what's going on with you, that's such a big relief as you realise that there is nothing scary out there, you're creating it yourself.  And she tells you what to do about it too, in simple language.  It's simple but not easy.
On top of that, this site is about thoughts and how to manage them and replace unhealthy ones with helpful ones.  You have to DO IT thought, you have to put the time in and study it and practise practise practise.
It's meant to be very effective, but you have to DO IT.
I dont know if any of that helps or not.
How are you doing?

Welcome suefsa99

Venlor is an SNRI, it works on a different neurotransmitter than SSRIs. It can have worse side effects. If it works for you then that is good but you should stay on it till you have something to replace it. Each time you restart it can have less effect. CBT is the only way to permanently replace it. I hope you will do the program offered here.

Hi Suesa99,

I am so sorry you are feeling this way. Anxiety can be extremely hard to deal with. The good news treatment of anxiety disorders has a very high success rate. The gold standard treatment for depression is cognitive behaviour therapy and that is what this program is based on. I urge you to get started so you can start to feel relief soon. You deserve to enjoy your life and your little daughter to the fullest. I think you have a lot to look forward to.

I look forward to reading about your journey.

Hi there
I have had generalised anxiety disorder for as long as I can remember but lately I can't control the panic I feel, I snap at people, freak out in public places and am reduced to tears, getting lots of awful judge mental looks... my GP has advised me to start taking Venlor, as this helped me previously, but life just seems totally overwhelming and scary. I have a beautiful 2 year old daughter and life seems especially scary since I've had her, I am on edge all the time, waiting for something bad to happen. People say to me 'this too shall pass' but I don't believe them anymore. I feel like I am wishing my life away, waiting for things to get better, and I am missing out on so much...
