I'm trying to focus on something else, while some roofers are throwing stuff down as they discard old roofing material, what worried me is that it was falling of the electrical wires, but not ours.
Also, they(neighours) didn't tell us the work they were doing, so I can't use the passage way.
Just sucking it up again. I did call the union president of the guy wearing the jacket, but he says he doesn't have roofers in his union. And he added that if I have a problem, I should ask the employer.
It takes quite a bit to get me mad but what does bother me the most is unnecessary noise or activity. And of course the people doing it. It is inconsiderate. I've had a number of people visit and bring their dogs and give them free rein. One lady had a border collie, a dog that normally is very obedient and doesn't bark. She talked to it and taught it to bark back.
Cute hey! not in my world. Another let his dog crap on my lawn. Another let her dog follow me around being annoying. And once the deed is done it is hard to get rid of the anger. When it is done over and over it says my opinion is of no value. Having my space invaded by a dog doesn't sit well with me. They are dogs not children. You can disagree with me if you are the type of person that needs this type of attention but I don't want it. It would get me fuming. you could cook eggs on the anger coming off me.
So I would spend an hour or more on my lathe, not even building anything, just concentrating. But some times I would be building something. The point is that it would get rid of the anger, by taking the focus elsewhere. But it has to be hands on. It has to be full body to work. TV won't work. reading won't work. Making cookies or playing the piano or digging weeds will. It needs to be something that will take your full concentration. And of course once it is gone you have to leave it gone, not go looking for it again. Often after doing this the annoyance would be less even though it was still there till it built up again.
I get mood swings, after all how could I not being in pain a lot of the time. But opposite to you I use this as an opportunity to do something to get rid of the mood. It takes the focus away from the mood to the project. And it takes more concentration so I do a better job. I do some of my best work when I am trying to get away from something or someone that is irritating me. But I may be more skilled at letting go of irritants having done this for years. If you can't then it is a good idea to stay away from table saws.
Sometimes when moods swing, I'm not sure I should make the decision. An example would be with installing windows in the home, which is expensive.
I'd decided to have this done, but then saw a youtube video making it an "easy" do-it-yourself project. Then a sibling criticized my judgement, and I was discouraged.
I think I wish to waiting until my moods settle, since that's how I get to a decision in the first place?
It's not that I "like" mood swings, it's that they meddle with my commitments, and I can't get things done, since I end up with a lot of self-doubt.
