Fixing Things(With a Mind that still needs fixing)

Hugs,

Are you thinking about sewing as in cross stitch and tapestry, or with a sewing machine? I know the basics of both, and setting up a sewing machine isn't too tricky. In grade 9, I chose sewing as a subject for a semester and we made a hoodie. Mine wasn't perfect but it was still fun. :)
Give it a go Hugs. Do you have someone to teach you?

Kaitie.

P.s. vincenza that is true ;) haha

KT,
I was thinking of taking a course in sewing totally opposed to many of things I usually have to focus on.  Dad knitted, apparently, and I did like to play with cloth, but I made things like a utility belt for a superhero as a child.  I'm not sure I have "talent", but doing something different is good for the brain, I think, like "cross-training" in sports - what do you think?

Today the neighbours patched up a hole in their back part of their house, where squirrels got in.  I found a squirrel in mom's garage today, and took action, methodically.

I probably broke some rules, but the entry point, it seemed, was from the adjoining neighbour's garage, where a roof board is inaccessible.  I just put bricks up, and it took 3 hours, since I had measure, and move the bricks, and account for gaps, by using the wire from a furnace filters, which I'd kept for gardening.  I'm afraid Davit might be reading my post, and wonder what kind of nut would do what I did, but I didn't have materials, or tools, and had some urgency, since the squirrel was in the garage, and I didn't have any time window to procrastinate.

I wonder if someone will question my sanity when they look at what I did, but I tried to pretend it was creative...and I'm sure there are unhappy squirrels.  Hopefully, they weren't in the garage chuckling while I did all this

Hi Vincenza,
There's a Feng Shui issue with having broken things, so it's not ironic that I'd feel "stuck" like that door.  Upon looking at it further, the door is made of 3 panels, and the middle one is lower, adding to the drag.  What's concerning me(not worrying me) is that the vertical threshold of the door isn't level, since I used a level tool.

Hi Hugs,
Sounds like you are quite busy between the garden and household repairs!

Katie995, I agree being able to fix things is very rewarding - especially when it comes to adding options to our wardrobe!

Have a great day,

Davit,
I'm not sure why the door drags - that 's partly why I'm stuck.  I imagine it's since the top trim has split away, since there's a visible crack at the top. It's draggin at the bottom though, suggesting that it needs to be more flush at the top, but it already looks flush.  I'll try using a level today.

Fixing things is always rewarding. I had a couple of dresses with broken straps- a few hand stitches and they were wearable again. :)

Hugs, why does the door drag? are the hinges wore? If you strip a screw fill the hole with toothpicks and glue and  put the screw back in.

I have to fix a hose on my tractor, it is hard to get at but I will fix it anyway. It just takes me longer.

A door is dragging along the floor, so I checked youtube, and will have take out a screw that doesn't thread anymore, with a longer one.  I tried tightening all the screws in hinges, and might have to safely remove the door, since the screw isn't co-operating with my attempt to draw it out.  I got some confidence, just taking the steps to start to fix this. although it will take more time.

I wonder if others are fixing stuff, despite their "handicap", since there are a lot of gifted people out there?
