Hi

Hi Kiki, I think you will find this site very helpful. It has been for me. Post what you feel like and read, read, read. I'm on day 14 today and I am working hard to keep a positive attitude and remembering that smoking is not going to solve any problem I have. It creats problems for me. I have gotten through some of my worst craves by reading and posting on this site. Welcome!! I have faith in our ability to be non-smokers. My best to you, Blue Cloud My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 280 Amount Saved: $56.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 23 Mins: 32 Seconds: 39

What is quitting like? ...Really?

Lamplighter, once again you have come to my rescue without knowing it. I am 15 days into this quit and have been seeking advise from more expierenced quiters since day one. The your doing goods, and keep up the good works have been nice to read but didn't answer the way I was feeling. I had no idea that smoking had so much to do with the other parts of my life. Not smoking has made me look at emotion, reality, relationships, addiction and most of all trying to find me. Not smoking is my number one goal. Now I know all the other issues are not happening to just me. I thought I was quitting for my health. I now think I'm quitting for my life. I find all the posts on this thread very informing and want to say thanks to all of you, BLUE CLOUD My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 300 Amount Saved: $60.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 1 Mins: 42 Seconds: 18

Reflections on Not Smoking

Luna, Thank you so much for re-posting. I am on day 15 and found your post just at the right time to reinforce my quit. I feel over whelmed by emotion. I also am very proud of the 15 smoke free days I have behind me.The part about this being MY quit really hit home with me. I have been trying to blame my past failures on someone else without realizing no one can take my quit away but me. Lost in Misery

Good Morning everyone, today is my 16th day. I'm putting one foot-in-front of the other and making it a day at a time. Sometimes I almost wish this was something I did not have control over so I wouldn't have to keep fighting. It would be much easier at this point to just say to hell with this and cave. I'm not going to do that but the thought of another week, month or year of this misery is daunting.I will have to say my thoughts or of family problems more than smoking. There just seems to be no good way to solve them and it makes me think to hell with it all. I know that's crazy. I know I have to be more positive. Smoking will not change my problems. It will only make me feel worse. I'm looking forward to the day when I can truly say it was worth it. Lost in Misery

Thank you all for the response to my post. I have made it through another day. It has been minute by minute most of today. I have really tried to keep busy but the craving seemed to be almost constant most of the day. I do think this has been the worse day so far. Maybe the demon knows I'm serious about this quit. He certainly seems to be working full time. I do think I am strong enough to beat this addiction. I am proud that I am this many days into a quit. I do believe I am on board for the long trip to recovery. Thank you so much for your support!! It is precious to me. Lost in Misery

Hey Kita, I'm much better today. Thank you for asking. I slept a full 10 hrs. last night and don't seem as depressed as yesterday. I'm still saying not one puff ever and I am breathing so much better. My friends are beginning to comment on the better color of my skin. I didn't realize the trail of signs nicotine leaves behide. For all the rest of you Thanks for the support and the hugs!! The "cough" and a jerk back to reality.

Tryagain, good post. I'm on my 17th day and it is hard. I'm with you on the reasons for not smoking. I am reminded of my rewards every time I take a deep breath.Smoking will help nothing, not smoking will help everything. Time Money... Health

with 554 days behind you I say you are stickin to it. I agree cigarettes are a waste. I am fighting (some times minute by minute) to get through this quit. I know it is the best thing I can do for me. I am trying to work the program and keep my quit as the most important thing on the agenda.I think I will make it. Any tricks to the quit you could pass along?
