I set my quit date

Hi Dee! My QUIT is going to start on Friday. When I decided to quit about 3 weeks ago, cold turkey, I also felt excited but failed miserably... I have a smoke in my mouth right now. I just can't believe I let this filthy cig dictate to me when I should light up. Like when I did quit, after I would do a certain something at work, I'd say to myself, Self, time for a smoke and then it was like I had to reprogram myself and say, Hey Silly, YOU DON'T SMOKE! Gee, that was hard and it seemed like after a few days it got easier but by then, I was sneaking a smoke here and there on my off days... I should have never lit one up. I'm up for the fight though. I hate to lose and as long as air fills my lungs, IT AIN'T OVER!. I wish you the best of luck! I'm giving it a shot...

Hello and welcome. I'm new here too... My new QUIT is scheduled for Friday. I wish you the best of luck going Cold Turkey. (I tried about 3 weeks ago and lasted 5 days and now I'm sneaking ciggys (hope you get a better go at it than I did)) It's hard but I know it's possible! C~O~N~G~R~A~T~U~L~A~T~I~O~N~S for making the decision! It will & can save your life! feeling so embarrassed!

Awe Pea, I'm so sorry to hear of your problems with the boyfriend and all. It is hard, I know because my hubby and I fight sometimes too and believe me, there are times where I don't see eye to eye with him vise-versa. That's life... just so happens to be mine. hehehe. I know you said that the money is tight but how do you think smoking is gonna make that better? It's not my dear, it's not. It will save you money to put towards the lights and what not. I see your meter said you are at what, 90 days... WoW! Someday, I hope to be that far along. YOU CAN DO THIS! Your child deserves a strong woman as a protector and to go 90 days, that's says alot! Now get back on the wagon and hold on because the ride is gonna get a little bumpy. Go back through the tools again and whatever you do, stay away from the ashtrays! ;) If you have too, dump water on them to make them non-burnable. YOU CAN DO THIS! Stay ! ~P~O~S~I~T~I~V~E~ ! I'm Quiting! AGAIN!

Hello All! About 3 weeks ago, I decided to quit smoking. It was a Monday night when I took my last drag and I went for 5 days when I relapsed. I felt terrible lighting that smoke up but I still did it hoping I could get away with just a puff. . . Yeah Right! This Tuesday would have been 3 weeks and I have been smoking on and off since that 1st puff on day 5. I'm so ashamed because I was so weak. This Friday, I'm going to purchase nicoderm patches and start all over because I HATE being a slave to this horrible addiction. I have been a smoker for 17 years and tried atleast 6 times to quit in the past but like I said, I failed miserably every single time! Well, I'm here and checking in to get myself back to a smoke-free life! I want this for the sake of my health and the love of my children. I watched my Dodine pass from Lung Cancer and I never want my children to watch me lay struggling to breathe because I was soooo selfish over smoking. . . I didn't cheat myself, I cheated my family and friends. I don't want to live like this ANYMORE and that is why I'm here, to get over this once and for all! Thanks for listening. Git R' Done

Today, Day One... Is running quite smoothly. I actually slept in because it's my off day and I was tired and my wonderful hubby got our beautiful daughter off to school and I started moving about 8 a.m. I had to because my son had a doctor's appointment at 10:30 so I jumped in the shower and flew to the store for my patches. I haven't smoked since 10:30 last night and I will stay that way til the day I die. I have been reading the post and will continue to read the tools provided and I must say I feel pretty darn good! I wish all who have quit and are trying and myself the best of luck through our journeys to be smoke-free and live happy, healthy lives! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Git R' Done

I'm getting ready to take the patch off for tonight. I had a great first day and was very busy spending money, planting and transplanting, and dropping off kids (that's a plus right there! hehehe) So I have a question. . . Why won't my meter thingy work :quest: I was looking forward to it showing me how many smokes I didn't have and how much $$ I saved... It just doesn't seem to be tracking... I dunno. But I had a good today. Tomorrow should be better. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0
