Mighty March Mellows, Help!

Hi Bobbi I went through a stage where I felt I was in a daze. Kind of like I was in a fog which is also part of withdrawals. It will pass and soon you'll start feeling more like yourself, I am also using the patch and I don't know if that had anything to do with the daze. Remember you've given up something that has been a part of your life for some time and it's almost like grieving. It will get better and start doing things for yourself that will make you feel better go shopping (my favorite) get your nails done anything to put a smile on your face. Plan a vacation with your husband as a way to celebrate your freedom from nicotine and it's something positive to look forward to!!! Your doing great keep up the quit!!! 4 1/2 days to go

Hi Kevin and Welcome, Have you considered any quit smoking aids? This might help you in your quit besides your strong disire to quit. I'm using the nicoderm patch and it has helped me a great deal. The best by far has been posting and reading the other forums on this site. If boredom gets to you then come on here and read or post. We get smoke breaks for 10 mins in the morning and the afternoon. When everyone goes outside to smoke I log into this site and read. It keeps me occupied and I am not outside in the rain or snow smoking. Actually I never realized how bad I smelled until now. When they come in it stinks pretty bad:) There are so many more pleasures being smoke free and I look forward to enjoying them more and more everday. We are here for you at any time and any hour. Plan a good hike for your first days, stock up on water, licorice sticks, gum and get some sleep it is exhausting. Have faith and take it one day at a time. Stay close and remember we're here for you!!! This roller coaster is not fun

Well I've made it another day smoke free. I almost lost it at work today with someone that just had to push those lovely buttons we don't like pushed and I almost gave up. Luckily I have a great boss and I just told him I needed a break and took a walk to cool off. Like I said the support is there but I'm still on an emotional roller coaster and ended up crying like a jerk. I hung in there and feel better now. I also tried to go without the patch and put one on. I didn't even notice it fell off until I got home. I did learn from your great feedbacks not to wear the patch at bedtime and I'm finally getting some much needed sleep. Thanks for your support and genuine concern!!! This roller coaster is not fun

thanks everyone! I finally made it to day 7. It hasn't been easy but it's getting better. I still have my mood swings and now my kid is pushing her luck. I had a rough night with her and had to postpone my weekend plans. Stress Stress Stress... She's 14 years old and being a typical teenager. Oh well I'm doing ok and sorry to vent but I know most of you can understand. Have a great weekend hang in there and I'll try to log on tonight thanks again for all the support! I'm Quiting! AGAIN!

Hi MaMa G. Don't beat yourself up over relapsing instead you should be so proud of yourself for not giving up!!! You know this is a great challenge and one that you can win!!! You made it 5 days before and now you might succeed all the way!! I hear your desire to beat this addiction and the patch might just do it. I used the patch and I have 51 days smoke free. I smoked for 26 years at a pack and 1/2 a day. The goal is to quit and you can do this whether you use the patch or some other NRT. Hang in there. Post often and if your having a bad day post no matter what. Remember we have all been there and have had horrible days but by posting we were given the encouragement we needed not to give in but to keep up the fight and win!! surrendered

Susie don't give up on quitting. I just read this and I've been in a bad space myself. I haven't smoked and after reading your post I know it would not be worth it for me or anyone to start smoking again. I can really relate to missing the crutch and any excuse is a good excuse. I can imagine how bad you feel but I know when your ready you will be back and stronger than before. Just know that you have helped me in my quit and I hope to be there for you when your ready. Enjoy your vacation and remember to come back!!!
