what to do what to say

Marie- I wanna talk about my quit and all my feelings as well. My husband does not want to talk about it at all and sometimes that bothers me. He appears to be having an easier time with the quit than I am. I have had to realize that everyone's quit is different. Since he won't talk....I have you all...my wonderful quit family! I guess some want to quit quietly and stoically (how lonesome!). Every few days I spout off how many days and this he doesn't mind. Handling Emotions without Smoking

BF Okay, I am not professing to being an expert, cuz I got a lot of fixin' I need to work on myself..ya know? I have my BS degree in Psychology, worked for 15 years as a cop, am on my 3rd marraige (this one for keeps-12 years strong)and have dealt with 5 kids through continued mental illness, alcoholism and drug usuage. The one thing I KNOW is that you CANNOT control other people, only your reaction to them. You have an awful lot going on in your life right now. Your posts almost solicit a "I think you should leave the insensitive SOB!" and I really don't think any of us will do that. Because we are all in this quit together and I betcha every one of us realizes that we sometimes (often, frequently?)are a bit over-sensitive at present, moody, critical of others, etc...hmmmmm...sounds like withdrawel symptoms. Give your quit some time, and after you are truly secure in your quit, and you still don't like him, let us know and we will do some further planning :eg: But, you may start to like him again  And you may even discover you love the SOB ;p In the meantime, ignore as much as you can and don't take his attitude personally. Not perfect? So what!

Great message! I missed the altercation and am not really interested in it. I'm just glad were all in this together. I have a smile on my face and love in my heart for each and every one of you! Handling Emotions without Smoking

Well..............you COULD kill them. But you would have to bury the body deep and cover with concrete. That seems like an awful lot of work to me. A coworker has this same effect on me. I can't stand the way they eat, chew gum, talk or even breathe! Isn't that awful? And they really aren't a bad person :confuse: Sometimes I leave to collect myself, but most of the time I try to humor myself over my silly silly feelings :) Take care BF. We all feel this way sometimes. Be fair to yourself and others.(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,340 Amount Saved: $528 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 20 Mins: 56 Seconds: 57

can't concentrate

I had noticed a problem concentrating early on in my quit, and even now I have times where I seem preoccupied or distracted. Seems I was, and still am a bit, consumed with the quit. But I will say, that it is so much better now than at first. Also---it could be the drugs  Prescription wellbutrin that is! :) LOL It will get better, I assure you! I have become a *&*

I don't think mine will pass---my family took a survey and decided I had always been a @%&*h. :gasp: I remind them that now that I have quit smoking, I will live longer and make their lives miserable into old age! :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,340 Amount Saved: $528 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 20 Mins: 54 Seconds: 11

Just saying Hi!

I don't know where you live, but here in Tennessee the pollen and air quality due to the weather has contributed greatly to allergies, etc... I have also had a headache for the last two days, but I know it's sinus'. Pain around the eyes, cheekbones... Hope you get to feeling better soon :)

I feel like I am going crazy

JDee: If you smoked only three in one night after a good length of time quit, you will not really have the same intense withdrawels. That's why it is good that you got right back on with your quit quickly. Congrats on your husband for quitting. I am proud of both of you! By the way, don't let the ease of quiting again play mind games with you---that's when the nicodemon sneaks in and convinces you that you can control when and how much you can smoke. It's a lie! NOPE is the only way to go!

The battle begins NOW!!!!

had enough: My husband takes the patch off at night also. He can't cope with the dreams. I agree that I have had some bizarre dreams, but they don't wake me and give me something unusual to talk about the next day :8o: Stay close and stand strong---you are doing sooooooooooo well :)
