Talking to Friends and Family

This is a really great thread! It reminds me of words of wisdom that were once given to me: you don't have to understand it, but accept it. That rang true for me, and it would be good if that was the place from which our loved ones started in their support.

It's great to hear that this community is helpful and maybe filling the gaps of support, sharing, and understanding in your lives! You all deserve so much of that!

Making Changes

Hi Members,

Let's talk about change. Have you heard the old adage: the devil you know is better than the devil you don't? Has that idea ever factored into your decision to avoid making changes to your lifestyle, or more specifically, the issue you are dealing with on this site? Also, there is the fear of failure when you make big changes to your life. The pressure of fear can prevent you from even taking the first step, or perhaps 'allow' you to give up at the first challenge so as to relieve that pressure. Then there are friends and family and everyone else that you tell about your impending change. How they respond can make a difference to how you perceive the change and/or your ability to make it happen successfully!

Feel free to share your stories about how you have dealt with your desire to change, successes and challenges.

Can´t remember it being this hard before...

Hi Ocean,

Lots of great advice here from those in the know! Hope it helped. Do stick with the program, and consult with your doctor if you don't notice any improvement soon. Let us know how you are doing.

Going to work

Welcome, Hillary,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned below.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

Hello from Austria

Hi Wien,

Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like you are doing very well! I'm glad you are finding the program helpful- you will likely find the information and support on these forums very helpful as well. Transitioning off medications can be stressful and perhaps you are feeling like you are losing support and afraid of how that will affect you. Those feelings are normal. Probably a good thing to focus on now is not the challenging moments, or worrying about if one is around the corner, but how you are dealing with them. That is probaby the key in the long run. Does that make sense?

Keep up the good work. Post often if that helps too. We are here for you!

I also encourage you to do the program and keep posting. You will find much support from other members who have very similar experiences to yours. What you are feeling is normal after a set-back.
