being alone

Hi Summer,

Doing the exposure work allows you to develop your coping skills in controlled situations. Therefore, when you are confronted with an unexpected situation (no control, so to speak), then you can take out what you need from your bag of tricks of previously successfully used skills. Make sense?

Keep working on it. Sounds like you have been doing great so far!! Keep those successes in the front of your mind.

no time to plan for this exposure

Hi Sunhot,

I like Davit's advice. As humans, we tend to be too hard on ourselves it seems all too often. You did a great thing for a friend while facing your fears- awesome! What an accomplishment! I'm proud of you!

Hi Im Kevin

Hello Kevin and welcome to the program! There is clearly lots of great advice and support for you here in our community. I would add that if it is to your liking, you can do the activitites (which are recommended) and there is a link to email your results to your doctor. Optional of course, but it might be a great tool to mark and share your progress.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Cipralex

Hey Kevin,

I recommend talking to your doctor. Gravol does make you drowsy and there might be a better solution for the long term. Nausea can really wreak havoc with daily activities so it's worth asking your doctor.

no time to plan for this exposure

Sunhot,

Having a long-term goal is great! You can start building up your exposure work towards that. Good plan! Keep us posted.

yoga and meditation

Thanks for your positive review of yoga and meditation. Many people don't realize that part of the goal of yoga is to take what you learn off the mat, i.e. being gentle with yourself, keeping your mind free of distraction, etc. When you practice it on the mat, it gets easier to do in 'real life'. Your daily commitment will take you far! Keep up the great work!
