In need of medication

Well first things first.....you need to find another Doctor. Tomorrow morning call community clinics, or your old doctor€™s office. Ask if there are Doctors accepting new patients, or if a Doctor has taken over your old Doctors practice? This should be a priority especially if you are having so many panic attacks. Please keep in touch and let us know your progress with this matter. Take Care, Melanie

Passing my comfort zone

Hi Jessie, You are not alone! There are many people that are experiencing exactly what you are going through. Just a thought Jessie? Stay on your Ativan and try to get out that door. Go see your Doctor and the two of you can analyze your "comfort zone". If you still can't get out of the house then what about having a close friend or relative help you out? I hope we can work on this together. Try this out and if you still are having discomforts then let us know and we can start working down another path. Keep in touch I will be looking forward to your next post. Melanie

Anxiety attack? - Always felt nauseous...

Good Morning, Thank you for visiting our site and letting us know how you are feeling and what you face on a daily basis. It is great to hear that you are visiting your Doctor when these symptoms occur. I am sure that your Doctor is wanting to help you in any which way that he or she possibly can. You are saying that medication is not helping you right? Have you discussed this with your Doctor? Maybe he or she can find you a medication that works best for you? There are many people that have to try different drugs in order to control the symptoms they are experiencing. The Panic Center offers you many techniques that may help you understand what you are facing. If you look to the left of this page you will see a heading "TOOLS". Under this heading are many tests and programs that are free to you and everyone visitng this site. Have you tried our Anxiety test? This test is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also offer a Panic Program. This Panic Program is divided into twelve weekly sessions. All information that is obtained by you is strictly confidential! If you feel that you need more information or assistance then this support group is always available to you seven days a week 24 hours a day. Thank you for visitng us and we look forward to hearing from you again soon. Melanie This message was edited by melanie on 1-7-03 @ 9:41 AM

pregnancy and anxiety

Good Morning Cossy :) Congratulations on becoming pregnant. I am happy to hear that your Doctor had decided to help you with your anxiety! I have worked with moms who have had to go off particular anxiety meds because they were pregnant. Seeing your Doctor and telling him that the discontinued meds are a concern is fine. He or she will help you with alternative therapies that are safe for you and your baby! In your case your Doctor has found you a safe medication that hopefully will help you with your anxiety. If you have any concerns that this is not the drug for you then get back on that phone and let him/her know. Pregnancy is a wonderful expereience enjoy yourself :). If you have any other concerns or questions please jump back on this site and we will be more than happy to assist you. Again Congrats!!! Melanie

dying or panic attack

Hi Ann, I agree with Gerry, "Learning to understand the physiological changes that occur when we are having these attacks, helps lessen the fear." Ann, you have come one step closer today. You have jumped on our site and are asking for some answers to your questions and concerns. Have you tried our Anxiety Test? If not you can access it at www.paniccenter.net/anxietytest/. The Anxiety Test is not a diagnostic tool and is not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of the test is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. At the Panic Center we try to help individuals understand what they are feeling and hopefully in the long run how to cope with their underlying fears. These programs are all free to the public eye and will hopefully help you reach conclusions to all your questions and concerns. Please look to the left of this screen and under the heading "TOOLS", you will see programs available to you. These tools are for you and they are confidential. I hope that we were able to answer some of your questions today? We hope that you will continue to join us at your own discretion. All the best! Take care Ann, Melanie This message was edited by melanie on 5-27-03 @ 2:53 PM

am new 2!

Hi Amie, Thanks for joining us today. It is great to see that you are able to talk about your anxiety :)! Honestly, Amie this is truly the first step. Understanding anxiety is not easy and that is why we have many options to help you work through your thoughts and perceptions. We have our online support group, the Anxiety Test, a Panic Program, and a Panic Diary. When you involve yourself with someone and have anxiety attacks use the diary to write down your thoughts before, during and after your anxiety attack. It is also important is write down what was happening at that time and what you think may have brought on the attack. This might sound silly but you really have to start somewhere right :). Amie, are you presently seeing a specialist at this time or are you just working through this at your own pace? Always remember we are here for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We will listen and try to guide you through all your questions and concerns. I hope that we where of some help to you today. We look forward to hearing from you again soon.
