New Member looking for ideas

Chops When I planned my quit, I gave myself permission to pamper myself for the first few days....slept as much as I could, drank plenty of water and juice, had snacks...a spoonful of nonfat yogurt or cottage cheese whenever I needed to fight down a craving, and this site. I read for hours during the first week. Every time I wanted a cig, I came here instead. Still do....lol I do lots of self-talk...I have an ongoing dialogue when I really want to smoke. It goes like this, " I really want a cigarette. But am I going to smoke? No. And do you know why? Because I don't smoke! I'm a non-smoker!" I say this all out loud, and loudly if I have to. If you look around, you can find threads on just about anything and everything that will help you. I'm taking chantix and that has really helped me this time. Good luck in your quit and let us know how you're doing, ok? WELCOME BACK DALOOSH!!!!!! This is why you think about smoking...

Bump for anyone who needs it I've been thinking about the association between reaching a no smoking milestone and renewed cravings. I experienced it on my eighth day and am a bit appprehensive about how i will react after reaching a month. I have noticed others going through similar experiences right around big milestones. I'm wondering if it is the association between celebrating and smoking, or letting our guard down after reaching a particularly meaningful milestone..or what???? anybody have any ideas on this? -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,192 Amount Saved: $197.2 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 2 Mins: 27 Seconds: 59

Time on my hands

HI Dupe I've been experiencing the same thing in terms of feeling like a smoke during breaks while I'm tackling big projects. I reward myself with an iced tea or glass of cold cold water, and a sit down in the shade. That seems to work. Good idea on the Quick Tasks! -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,197 Amount Saved: $197.2 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 2 Mins: 47 Seconds: 17
