The Smoker who wore Patches

Good luck Dee! You've put a lot of time and energy into this quit, you must be serious. It was just a few days ago I was there too. It's not easy but it's all worth it and more. Electronic Cigarettes

Well that made the junkie sit up and take notice. Although the junkie is always listening in the background, it lost influence when we decided to quit. Now we have an autonicotineinjector to fight off the beast for us; feed the junkie in us all without really smoking. It's kind of like a crack pipe, only legal. Tell me, were do I get one of these? Do I have to go to a dark alley and casually pass a hundred dollars to a gang member to get one? Wait, this is the 21st century. I can probably get one over the web and delivered to my house in a plain wrapped package... Sorry everyone, it was the whole idea of this product that set me off. I can see someone actually making this and preying on people much like us, junkies. They know we can be motivated for a fix. All they have to do is plant the seed and the junkie will take it from there. Shame, shame, shame... Visualization anyone try it?

Hello Carylene, I like your imagery better. Mine is more parental stubbornness. When the junkie tries to encourage a smoke I discourage it like it was a child making a bad decision though with much less consideration I would show a child. A typical exchange would be the junkie notioning, "A smoke would be good now" and in response I would think, "I thought we were done with that; you can't be serious. Smoking is always a bad idea; leave now." I don't show my junkie any consideration or respect. It exists at a primal level. It will try our defenses for weak spots and when it finds one it will exploit it. I've been at that level of my quit where it will find one here and there. This is much easier to manage than first couple of weeks when I was countering several triggers at a time. As I said from the start, I like your imagery better. This is a good post, thank you. I used to smoke...

Hello BfS, I really like this thread. I used to smoke is the same as saying you're a nicotine addict. I used to smoke means I have the inner strength to deny my addiction. I used to smoke on an emotional and intellectual scale is similar to climbing Mt Everest in terms of accomplishment. I used to smoke means I understand, please let me help you stop too. I used to smoke means I'm healing now. I used to smoke means I'm more sensitive to the rights of nonsmokers without being an "ars" about it. I used to smoke means doors are open that used to be closed to me. I used to smoke means I don't care if they raise tobacco taxes. I used to smoke means I don't care to be in smoke filled rooms. I used to smoke means I don't care for the smell of tobacco, though some pipe tobaccos smell pretty good the're just polished turds. This is great and I'm anxious to read what other's have written later. 14 lbs gained !?!?! UUGGGHHH ! ! ! !

Hello Jean49, I had to take a step back when I read your last post. Those numbers and words are almost a quote from what I said to my wife a little more than a week ago, when I first found this post. I also was 10 pounds beyond where I should have been when I quit and stayed there without doing much of anything different for a little more than 2 months then the pounds found me. I went up another 15 pounds and it seemed like overnight. I started my exercise program like I said I would and I've lost 5 pounds thus far. My wife and I are now both nonsmokers (now that I've quit too) and we both are exercising and trying to be smarter about what we eat. Jean49, you are an inspiration to me! Hello Unhooked, It sounds like you are having the party to be at. What were the coordinates of that treehouse and how big did you say the brook was?
