My reward for 90 days is camping and fishing with my family for a week. This will be the first smokeless vacation and I'm not at all worried about it. My quit is strong and allows me to focus more on what I like about being free from my addiction.
I've been exercising and running and I don't get winded or cough. I feel great after I exercise not completely drained and gasping for breath. My body is rewarding me for that excellent decision I made 91 days ago.

Great thread Mercy, thank you.
Quitting is easier than that look on your child's face as they realize you're not going to be there for the rest of their life. That if you had only listened to them things would be different and their life would be so much happier. And why you were so stubborn and continued to poison yourself even after they found cancer in you, you didn't even try to get better.
Quitting easier than trying to explain this madness to a child.

Well done Jean49! You are my weight loss inspiration. I haven't made too much progress since we last spoke but I've kept up the exercise and the pounds have started to drop more than add as of late. I'm down 10 pounds and need to drop another 15 before my waist could come close to 37. My waist wasn't that before I quit. You're doing awesome at 32.

I wish I could explain how much better it gets. It is amazing how little I think of smoking and how nothing the thought of smoking is to me. I'm not foolish enough to think I can stop fighting it, but I take a lot of comfort and encouragement from the progress that's made everyday.

1) Much has changed since I made the decision to quit. I like most of these changes and accept them (I won't accept the weight gain), confession.
2) Not smoking is worth some short term weight gain, conviction.
1) During this quit I have thought many times that I would eventually go back to smoking.
2) I can quit for the long term with help from my friends.

Thank you all my quit buddies! Rose, we did it!! The sand does feel good.
I'm back today from a week long camping trip up north, my first smoke-free vacation. It was much easier than I thought it would be. The most valuable skill this past week has been being able to recognize junkie talk. Once I saw it for what it was it didn't stand a chance. It's easy to dismiss junkie talk because it just doesn't add up. The quit is strong with this one and I'm on the beach!!!

Hello and welcome Sam. All the best to you on you're first quit day. You have done your homework and are doing this the smart way, good for you. That makes the experience more positive than it would be otherwise. The whole experience has been positive for me and that is in no small way due to this sight and the people that support it. So many good people genuinely interested in your success in this often very difficult challenge.
I've found this site beneficial in every aspect of this experience. Someone here has your answers or at least is asking the same questions. Stay strong and positive and you're on your way!
