To all the New Year Quitters

Hi! I am one of these new year's stoppers as well and wish a lot of focus and commitment to all of us, newly stoppers. Every time I tried to stop, it always kind of turned up the same way: The first few days, I feel really happy with myself and basically feel really limited redrawals effects. Then, after a few days, there is one of these awful hook form the nicotine, really cunningly calling, to which I can't resist and which still always pretty much come as a surprise coz I am never completely prepared to that. It feels like I really want to stop this time, I feel better prepared as well from having filled up the preparatory steps. I just cannot understand why I would keep on because I am just completely disgussed by this smoking habit but I just hope I am going to be strong this time. WELCOME JAN 07 QUITTERS!!

I stop because my ex-boyfriend was a non-smoker(ex-smoker) and that it was always smelling fresh and really nice in his place and that eventually, I always had the impression to stink of cigarette and to have to constantly try to hide this fact/impression(?)... I stop because I will turn 30 in 2 weeks time and I already feel too often that I am completely dilapiding my life with this 15 years of heavy smoking. I hope it is going to work this time because I have been nearly constantly thinking about stopping in the last 9 years and I always wondered why I was still doing that when doing it... Marg's into day four

Marg, I stopped the same day as you did and I just share your determination or, lets say, if for now it's still rather incredible, it just feels like I don't know why I smoked for so long all these years. It just feels great not to be a smoker anymore and I wish you the best. Rai. Coping with Day Three

Hi, I am on my 3rd day as well. Since I stopped at about 14.30 on the 1st of January, I calculate I will be finished with my first 72 hours in about 4 hours... I still haven't felt a really intense craving, am just convinced I am doing the right thing but god, do I spend time in speculation! Am supposed to finish a website asap but in reality, travel from the Stop Smoking Center, which helps me a lot and pace around in my appartment, speculating on my brand new life as a non-smoker, counting the days, the hours and the minutes. In conclusion, I feel quite really good, without too much intense craving but my productivity is close to zero. Thanks for having highlighted this pretty useless state of the first 3 days, it makes me feel in familiar territory... I know it will get better afterwards... And I am still really happy to be a non smoker right now. The SSC is invaluable for me at this stage, Thanks a lot! Marg's in day five!

Hello everybody and formostly Marg, Rhonda, Gismo. I don't knowe how it went for you but it went quite ok for me. We are in day 6!!!!!! I didn't really post today coz I was busy + I spent a lot of time on my reward! I want to give faith to anybody who is going to stop soon and say, if you really settle for it, the feeling of acomplishment is way better than these days and months and years of wondering how long this slow destruction of oneself is still gonna last. When, for god sake, will I quit? Once you quit, everything looks brighter and this is absolut live testimony. Everybody keeps strong, we are all great! I see you, Rai. (PS : :8o:I just hope a craving is not going to attack soon!) Marg's in day five!

It's going to be my first week-end too, I'm with you...! The dreadful thing is that I just moved in 2 months ago and there is just absolutly no cleaning to do. The little bit there was has been done twice already this week... Maybe a new tip then: when stopping with smoking, maybe fill up agenda for the 1st week + week-end with cleaning-up sessions for friends, parents, relative. It's for free, nobody even needs to be there, just the fresh non smoker with some cleaning to do till he drops... Well, that was for my input on the 4th proud non-smoking day of my life. Everything will be all right this week-end but for sure, I will be glued onto my keyboard and on the SSC and hearing from you, I hope. I can't stand it!

Hi, I stopped not long ago and I do get this real craving for chocolate as well, it looks like my substitue. Before, I ate pretty ok, salade and stuff, now, my diet is getting quasi out of hand. Snacking with a pack of cookies in the afternoon (chocolate ones), thinking I'm not really hungry for diner time so kind of skipping it for faster food like a banana or so and then, feeling like snacking some more later at night. I took 2 kilo since my quit but I don't know what it makes in pounds coz I come from Europe. Will try to check that out. Is chocolate a trend when stopping smoking? Oh yes, and as well, I never drunk as much coffee as these 3 last weeks. Fortunatly I drink decaff but I really hope it isn't bad for me coz I could overdose from it... I see you, rai. ON THE WAY BACK FROM HELL

Hi Deck, at least, that's an easy question... This carton can be exterminated in several maniers : slowly, one cig by 1 cig in the toilets; faster, droping water from the sink in each packet, then, in the rubbish, never tried that before but it could all go in the mixer, with some water as well, why not? Then again, you could decide to have a walk till the closest bridge and throw them in the river but 1/ is there a river in Mexico?, 2/ it's not super ecologico-friendly; then, you could throw a tantrum on the box and jump on it several time and dust the result in the rubbish. I remember a friend who actually plastered a pack for another addicted friend. If ever you want the trophy, the pack can be plastered inside. It can as well be emptied first and plastered half in a plaster-molt. That was for my friend. I remember it was really looking like art... Deck, you really need to get rid of this carton immediately, that's number one, number two is that you are doing really great until now. Remember smoking in Mexico would be hell, stay strong and explain me what you did with these cigarettes, Remember what hell it is to be a smoker, keep strong, lots of hugs, Rai My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 21 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 651 Amount Saved: 84 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 13 Mins: 6 Seconds: 1
