Tomorrow 10/16/06

After 22 years of smoking, tomorrow is the first day of my new life. I will never smoke another cigarette. I have had several quits before, usually every 5 years there is a serious attenpt. I once quit for two years! Still can't believe I started back. I have my patches, gum, hard candy.... I have plans to occupy my time.... I am trying to change my paradigm from "I am not looking forward to this" to "This is the greatest thing I have ever done for myself".

Okay, I am happy for the company. I will be thinking "Jan and Sparky are going through this with me". I will keep posting and checking on everyone's progress. Dee

Dee Checking In- So far, so Good

Well, it hasn't been too bad, as a matter of fact, it was a pretty good day. I do not smoke at work so that was nothing new, but after not having my usual 2-3 this morning, I expected to be climbing the walls and that did not happen at all. I quit with the patch before and thought I remembered it being much worse but on a scale from 1 to 10, I may have briefly reached 3. How about you, Jan and Sparky? I hope your day went as well as mine!!! I did catch myself doing a couple of habit type things- starting to grab my cigs to put in the car and then going in the glove box to retrieve them when I got home but, alas, no cigs to be found. I hope it doesn't get worse but, for now, Day 1 is going better than I expected! day one and still smoke free

Yahoo! I thought of you today. I was telling my hubby about about how "Jan, Sparky and I are quitting together" and, of course, he says "Who?".

Fear of Failure

Hey, today was the first day of my new life and it wasn't that bad. I really built it up in my mind from past experience and at around 11:00 this morning I thought "you know what, I can do this. It is a choice". Good luck and remember that I am going throught the exact same thing as you are. New day

I am here... about to leave for work and starting day three. I have a hurdle today because I have to drive 20 minutes to a meeting across town and I always used these opportunities to smoke. I have avoided driving alone the past two days and this will be a little tiny test. But, at least, I won't be worried that people will be smelling smoke on me when I enter the building. Dee Checking In- So far, so Good

Well into day two. Not as good as yesterday but not terrible, either. On a scale of 1 to 10, I had a 4-5. I think that's pretty good for day two and I am grateful!

Tomorrow 10/16/06

Well, here I am. No cigs in 6 days. This weekend was better than I thought it would be. My son had a footaball game , then a team pizza party, then his own birthday party. Cigarettes? Who had the time?
