Today, I am my own Super Hero

Flowerpot, thank you for posting your thoughts. I have been sort of afraid to let myself feel proud or too good because I'm afraid it wont last. After reading your posting I know that is wrong, I should take it one day at a time and just enjoy the good feeling of being smoke free. I an seeing real results, my blood pressure is down and I can really tast and smell things now. I helps so much to know how other people are coping and to feel part of a big pictur. this is a done deal india here I come

Hi Sterk, Thanks for your posting to my four week quit. You are off to a good start, I know you will make a go of it this time. You have such a great motivation, trip to India, wow. It will be so nice to beable to enjoy all the sights and activities without sneeking off for a smoke, to say nothing about how much better you'll feel. I have a lot more energy now, I can go all day with out feeling tired. Before I would crash at about 1:00p and realy want a nap. Not now. Remember deep breathing helps. When you feel the crave. breath deeply for severaly minitus. This will postpone your reaching for a cig. long enough to get past the crave. Four weeks and going strong

I was worried that I wouldn't get past the three week wall but I've broken though it and am still a non-smoker. I still have the thought, like a memory of something I use to do but I know non-smokers don't need nicotine to feel normal. I do deep breathing for several minuts and let the thought pass. It turly is a one hour and one day at a time processes. It helps a gread deal to read what others are doing and how they are handling the withdrawals. I had some good news from my doctor yesterday. After four weeks my blood pressure has droped significantly, yea!! Hello new friends

Hi Thea, Welcome, this is a great site to get support from people who know what your going through. It's not to tough as long as you have made up your mind and take it one hour and one day at a time. I do a lot of deep breathing and self-talk. I'm SOOO happy to be a non-smoker that any discomfort I my feel is well worth this bliss. You can do this, Red :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 46 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 938 Amount Saved: $310.5 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 2 Mins: 50 Seconds: 39

46 days

I am at 46 day's and find I think about smoking less and less. But, I still have the odd craving. I'm able to get past these times by self-talk and deep breathing, how long will I feel these cravings? They are usually triggered by stress. Thank you, Red My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 46 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 938 Amount Saved: $310.5 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 2 Mins: 51 Seconds: 40
