This feels odd

Hi byblion, Welcome to the group. CBT does work. You just have to work it.

Take your time and follow the lessons. Don't be in a rush.

There's lots of support here from others who understand what you're going through.

Hang in !! Things will get better.

A really bad day.....

Hi, I know that this thread has become a binge eating topic but ," A really bad day." Is what I just had.
As I may have said before I just started working for the first time in about three years.
The career  I  have chosen is as a courier where I drive my own van around the city picking up
and delivering parcels and boxes. I drive around 225k/day.
My day started to go astray around 8am when my wife  said ,"The TV doesn't work. So I had to fiddle and finally phone Rogers the cable people to get it fixed. Then I rushed out on the road only to find that i had forgotten my phone and courier radio and had to return home . Then traveling out the highway in a downpour in rush hour and couldn't find my first call .
Then traveling  about twenty miles to the wrong address and had to turn around and go back.
Then my day finished off by getting a $60 parking ticket, which kills the days profit.Dang!!
But in the end I could laugh it off (After a while).
There was a time that I'd have got real upset but it's just not worth it.

renovation work

The trick with plastering is thin layers. A wide knife and a nice easy flowing stroke. It's better to do 3 or 4 thin layers with minimum sanding than a big ,gobby thick coat that requires oodles of sanding.

Working Again

As I may have said before,I recently started working after not working for about 2 years.
In that time I dealt with not drinking 26 oz. of whiskey/day , and not smoking 50 cigarettes/day.
It's been over two years now since I stopped both .

Since I started working, I'm working as a courier , driving all around Toronto, I get home around 7pm too tired to do much of anything. I glance at some of the support group, but am too tired to add anything.
I'm way back on lesson 2 but the most important thing right now for me is achieving this routine of getting up at 6:30am making my sandwiches and heading out on the road. The CBT  I will do later, cause there's still lots of baggage to deal with.
