I started the quit program a couple of days after you did. And yes this site helps. There are plenty of people who have done this on this site; who keep me motivated and provide valuable advice. Good luck and keep up the quit!!!
From 3 days and counting to 14 days and counting. Through the hell week and heck week yahooo!
I have to admit this is exhilarating to be able to get here. The continuous support, feedback and encouragement keeps me focused on keeping the quit going.
Now on to week #3. No complacency this is when I should really watch for the slip it happened to me twice this year week 3 I go for just one....
This time I an gonna hold on tight and not let go off the quit.
Ice Cold Brews..there is something I would like to crave for Jim and willsv56 That sounds good for a reward. I would have them on Friday..
Day 18 and counting. The cravings are on and off. yesterday it wasn't so bad.. today they are strong.. I have to admit I am getting used to fighting them..The irritability, stress and flashes of anger are almost gone. Continuing with nonic advice of Ice Cold Water, that helps and long walks outside whenever the craving hits hard.
More than all that look at all the quit meters of the folks on this site is a constant source of encouragement and motivation to keep the quit going.
Thanks. I have to admit it gets better as every day goes by but still those cravings come out of nowhere not as strong as they were but occasionally one that will sneak up on you.
It has done wonders for my self esteem and general outlook on life. I never thought I could pull this off so that is a confidence booster. Glad to be walking with you on the road to freedom.
Congrats!! You started on the journey to freedom!!! That you have got 7 days under your belt as of today is fantastic!. I have been free for about 20 days and what helped me keep the quit going is:
1. Lots of ice cold water; It is refreshing and soothes you
2. Lots of Cranberry juice with ice seems to get the cravings out.
3. If you can walking for a while takes the stress out and relaxes you
4. My favorite thing is start a stop watch and it usually disappears in 3 minutes.
More than all that lots of material on this site; forums, support all of these things help stiffen your resolve to keep the quit going.
Be strong and you will continue to remain on the road to freedom.
