I´m sorry that you´re having such a hard time. Not knowing and just waiting is probably the worst feeling. I´m keeping my fingers crossed for you. I know how it feels. I had a CT today because of enlarged lymph nodes. I´ll get results on tuesday. Until then I´m telling myself that this is just a scare and everything will be ok.
I´ll think of you on monday. Keep us posted.
Big hug.

I think all of the advice so far has been great. I would add from personal experience that it is very important to know exactly why you are quitting and to hold on to that reason when the cravings get tough. I think for most of us out health is the number 1 reason to quit. Either health in general or something more specific like "I don´t want to get lung cancer". I watched my uncle and my father die of cancer. Both were smokers. Whenever I want to smoke I think of them. Maybe smoking had nothing to do with their deaths but it´s not a risk I´m willing to take. Knowing your reason to quit and really really wanting it more than anything is key in my opinion. Think of your reasons often and you´ll find that they are more important than the cigarette you want.
And quitting means not smoking at all. I wish I could just smoke 1 or 2 cigarettes a week/on special occasions.Unfortunately it just doesn´t work that way.
Say goodbye to your toxic "friend" and never look back.
I´m rooting for you. Keep us updated.

I say keep your days. Having half a cigarette and then not to think "damn I blew it, might as well have the whole thing" and then just having one more and more and more... that is just so hard to do but you did it. I´m not saying be proud. But don´t be too hard on yourself either.
In the big picture, if you keep going with the quit, this 1/2 cigarette won´t matter. Just be very careful. It´s a slippery slope from 1/2 to 1 to 1 pack a day.

Aww thank you guys! So funny that you think I´m young. I considered smoking to be a sin of my youth. Something I would stop doing once I get older and more mature, have kids etc...Once I turned 25 I was like "Wait a minute. I´m getting too old for that excuse." :)
I really admire all you people. I imagine this to be so much harder the longer someone smoked. When I read comments from people saying they smoked for 20 to 40 years I´m amazed at the willpower they possess to quit sth. that was part of them for more than half of their life. Much respect to all of you.
