That's awesome your quit is going so well--good for you and keep it up.
This is my 3rd time at it and it has been by far the easiest for me. I think you're right about wanting it so badly that it becomes easier. I'm not giving anything up this time, I'm just taking my life back--and I'm never going back.
I've definitely had some difficult days, but never once was getting a hold of a smoke been an option.
In the past I remember walking by a smoker and thinking how lucky he was that he got to indulge--I was fighting not to smoke. This time when I see someone puffing away I think about how lucky I am that I'm no longer a slave: I don't stink, I can take a long walk without becoming winded, and my confidence is through the roof--I'm defeating a lifelong demon!
I've been having a really cool experience at work. When I come out for my break prepped for a power walk all my former smoking buddies wonder why I'm not hanging out sucking down a couple sticks. I can see the envy in their eyes and the same desperation I felt before. I just point them to SSC and hope they'll join us soon.
Way to go. Glad to say we're both smoke free

This support group is so awesome and the most signifcant aspect in helping me keep my quit. The fact that so many people, with so much time under their belts, continue to help the newbies is beyond words.

You are doing so awesome. I know how hard it is for you, but we each have to take ownership of our own quit. AND YOU ARE DOING IT!! You have a tough quit with your health problems and your mom continuing to smoke.
This is for you and no one else. Remember your reasons for quitting; remember the battles you have fought and won. You have 15 days--don't give up! Go back and read your own initial posts. You know you need to do this for you!
Sparky lost her quit for now, but that doesn't mean you should give up. You have been so strong; don't pin your success on someone else. Look instead at Tresa, Patrick, Karren, Bonnie, Ron and all the Hall of Famers.
We're members of the same graduating class, my friend. We may be freshmen, but I want to be with you on the podium when Mr. Ed lists his 100 day victors and we board the cruise ship together.
I've felt so proud of you as I read about your quit progress. You have been strong and amazing. Please keep it going for you.

I picked a quit day that was several days away. (For me it was three weeks.) Every day leading up to quit day I would go through the program and read the posts. I thought about how that day would be and how I would act differently. I identified my triggers and planed my responses.
As the day approached I was so anxious I couldn't wait to take on the challenge--in fact I got started 3 days early.
I wish you the best of luck.

I too miss sitting in my back yard with a nice glass of wine and chain smoking myself to death. But you know what...it's nice to actually taste the wine instead of that nasty tobacco And my time alone is just as nice--and much more relaxing--without the sticks.
And you know what I like more? Being able to walk without being winded, not smelling like an ashtray, not spending $50/week on my addiction...
