Chantel, welcome to the SSC!  You've been given some awesome advice!  And boy do those 9 smoke free days look great on you!  I suggest that you add your quit meter to your posts from "my profile" so you can see your progress every time you post.  Also, please be sure to have a reward system set up to celebrate each passed craving (small reward), each smoke free day (medium reward), and each smoke free week (larger reward).  Drink lots of iced water to flush the toxins out of your system.  Read, read, and read some more.  Use the search feature to look for topics that are affecting you.  And post as often as you need, if only to vent, as somebody is always here to help!  We're all rooting for your continued success!

Hi Chantel - Good for you!

I'm new here too but you are way ahead of me.

I'm working up to a new quit after a nasty slip - don't do what I did. You've made a great start so keep it up.

All the best,

FS

Hey Chantel, welcome to SSC. My hubby and I also quit using the patch very successfully, and as Jazz says, it is very do-able. I think you will find the message board very helpful I know I did. And I look forward to hearing all about your quit and its progression.

Hey Chantel!

Congratulations and welcome!  You have come to the right place.

9 days is great!  Everyone is right, read through the program, preparation is key.  Also, set a reward system in place.  What will your reward be for tonight? For the end of this week?

Keep posting!

Welcome to SSC.......This is the best place to get that support.  Just Post......you'll get it.

Glad to see you doing it this time......9 days is AWESOME!!!!!!!
Read through "My Program" and get some more info and help.  Download your Quit-Meter under Tools and Resources, then go to My Profile and check "show it in posts".  It helps a lot seeing those days and NOT SMOKED cigs grow.
Helps us congratulate you when you meet such great milestones as 9.....NINE.....9.......days too.......

You're done with Hell Week.......Into Heck Week now......it gets easier as the weeks go by!!
Keep Kicking ASH..................

Hi Chantel!  First off, well done on 9 days - that's a huge accomplishment.  Oh, and welcome to the SSC!  I found this site instrumental in quitting.  I spent a ton of time on here the first few months, and met a lot of amazing people whom I now call my friends.  You'll get amazing support here.  Take the time to work through the program, set up your quit meter (it's a great incentive to see your stats accumulating), and yell if you need help!    FYI - my hubby and I both quit using the patch, with no slips at all.  It's very doable.  Best wishes!
